clarification
clarifying how time traveling actually works
so, i've been getting quite a few questions on how time traveling really works, and i understand that the description is a bit vague and hard to understand unless you really look into it. (i just didn't want to edit the code to make it even bigger orz). so i decided to make an announcement to clarify not only to our members now but also future roleplayers, to explain the limit and whatnot a bit more.
believe it or not, lohan was wrong -- the limit actually does exist. i've thought long and hard how to explain this, but i don't think there's much of a comparison to compare our traveling to another piece of literature. ie in harry potter, the time turners allow someone to be in two places at once, yes? this is not the case with our canon of time traveling.
to better explain this, here's an example. say you decide to travel back to any time in the past for say, thirty minutes. if you leave at 11:30 pm on a saturday, and you spend exactly thirty minutes in that past time, the present you come back to will be 12:00 on that same saturday. while you (or rather, your character) is in the past, the timeline of the stationary will continue to move on without you. time continues and flows despite the people weaving in between it.
this is why doomed timelines exist -- even if you go back and change the past, the present has continued on. there is no way to change the future, because there is no way to truly change your past.
i hope this makes sense -- if there are any more questions, please please let me know and i'll update this! - admin yixing
