*note: It is possible for your character to be clanless, if you’d prefer for your character not to be affiliated with a specific clan. This provides more opportunities as to the abilities and specialties of your character, without the limitations or structure of clans. However, be aware that by being clanless, you cannot possess clan-specific kekkei genkai or techniques.

The puppet technique uses chakra threads to control puppets like marionettes. The cloth binding technique is the ability to completely immobilize an opponent, thus preventing them from moving and using techniques, using a giant roll of cloth to tightly wrap up the intended target. Originating from Sasori and Kankuro, the clan is split into three; the Kyokai ( descendants of Sasori ), the Gankyo ( descendants of Kankuro ), and the regular indirect descendants of either. The individual clans had unified to quell dissension and disagreements among the three and now share techniques, puppetry and poison among one another. However, the Kyokai portion of the clan is reluctantly accepted due to their ancestor Sasori, a deceased member of the Akatsuki.
[ 1/3 direct descendant + 0/4 indirect descendant ] Fūjin Clan : Although smaller in number in comparison to the Ningyō Clan, these shinobis are the descendants of Temari and are highly competent in Wind Release almost to the point of mastery. Wind Release is performed by making chakra as sharp and thin as possible, and is mainly short to mid-ranged offensive techniques that combine brute force and keen precision to deal cutting and slashing damage. A rarity among the five chakra natures, wind techniques are usually performed by generating air circulation and can be enhanced through this method as well. Wind-natured chakra can also be channelled into blades to increase their cutting power and overall range.
[ 1/2 direct descendant + 0/1 indirect descendant ] Sabure Clan : Notorious for being the descendants of the Fifth Kazekage, Gaara, and the rarity of its members, the Sabure clan is exclusive to enhanced sand control with Magnet Release users. Their nation presented a threat to the Land of Sands’ borders and, after continual failed and refused negotiations, conflict broke out between Sunagakure forces and the Fanalis Clan. Eventually, the Fanalis Clan was captured and enslaved, their subjects assimilated into Sunagakure. Although the Fanalis Clan has since gained more rights, they are still treated as inferior due to their status as non-shinobi, possessing an unusually small amount of chakra but practicing the traditions of the shinobi and contributing to the Sunagakure economy and government. They possess superior lower body strength and remarkable stamina, capable of resisting extreme environments with minimal necessities. They are masters of taijutsu, inventing and refining their own form and technique – a brutal, savage and vigorous style that uses the full force of their legs to limit the opponent’s movements and knock them down through force. The minimal chakra that have is used for self-restoration purposes, capable of healing minor injuries and preventing soreness of muscles; they are the only known users capable of this besides Hashirama Senju and Tsunade, causing them to be a biological rarity. As a result, many shinobi regard them with disdain, equally disgusted and horrified by their sheer strength. They are recognizable through their crimson/red hair and their facial piercings – a coming-of-age tradition continued even in captivity.
[ 0/6 ] Uzumaki Clan : The Uzumaki clan did not originate from Konohagakure, though after the destruction and flooding of their previous village, Uzushiogakure, some retreated to Konohagakure and Sunagakure as a safe haven. They are masters of scrolls and possess lengthened life spans and large amounts of chakra.
Iwagakure: *Son Goku + Gyuki in possession
[ 0/3 ] Kamizuru Clan – near extinction : The Kamizuru clan was once a famed clan back in the days before the Third Shinobi World War. However, after their defeat against the Aburame lead to the defeat of Iwagakure in a battle, they were shamed and lost their famed status. A clan that specialized in combinations with bugs, they are known to coordinate with all types of bees. It is rumored that the first Tsuchikage hailed from this clan, calling for it’s previously famed status.
[ 0/3 ] Uchiha Clan : One of the four noble clans of Konohagakure and assisted in the creation of the village alongside the Senju clan, previously acknowledged as one of the village’s most powerful clans, although their reputation and numbers suffered following the events of the clan massacre. However, after Sasuke Uchiha was overtaken in the run for Hokage by Naruto Uzumaki, few Uchihas left Konohagakure in favor of Iwagakure. Characterized by the possession of the kekkei genkai, Sharingan, and the potential to achieve the Mangekyō Sharingan and Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan, the Uchiha Clan possesses powerful, strong chakra and the potential to learn and master powerful techniques, enhanced by the qualities of the Sharingan select few possess. The clan is notoriously battle-oriented with a natural aptitude towards combat, as well as an innate affinity for a Fire chakra nature typage and the ability to use the advanced elemental kekkei genkai Blaze Release.
[ 1/3 ] Gesaki Clan : Assumed to be extinct by the end of the Fourth Shinobi World War, the Gesaki Clan reemerged during the Fifth Shinobi World War with the appearance and assistance of a sole member, hailed as one of the most powerful shinobi in the Iwagakure military. As the sole possessor and user of the Crystal Release kekkei genkai, the shinobi had been forced to remain in Iwagakure and establish a clan to ensure the continuation of his rare abilities. The Gesaki Clan are the sole known users of the Crystal Release kekkei genkai and are under constant supervision and defense as a result. (For more information on this Kekkei Genkai, click here). They are characterized by their superhuman height and monstrous strength and speed, amplifying their already immense physical capabilities through their chakra. Their techniques consume massive amounts of chakra to enable them to function at that level of physical prowess; as a result, they require constant sustenance to replenish the energy lost to their technique. Their strength is directed into a contact-based style of taijutsu, using their sheer strength to disorient and disable their opponents – a single, full-force blow capable of rupturing organs, breaking bones and dislocating limbs. This is further augmented by their crystal-nature manipulation, “solidifying” their skin by manipulating the particulates in the air to form a thin, almost impenetrable sheen of crystal around the desired area, usually the fists, knees, or feet for additional damage upon impact. Crystallization doubles as a defense mechanism, providing resistance to substance-based chakra natures and absorbing the impact of normal blows. Gesaki members have an affinity for Earth Release techniques, a simplification of their Crystal Release kekkei genkai. (Note: that the capabilities of the Crystal Release kekkei genkai in the roleplay are more limited than those shown in the anime.) [*requirement: all members of this clan must be 26 or younger.]
[ 0/6 ] Kyuzo Organization: Originally called the Explosion Corps, the Corporation was forcibly closed down by Onoki upon the infamous bomber Deidara’s chaotic departure. However, when Onoki passed away and in the midst of the Fifth Shinobi World War, the Corporation was started up again and renamed as Kyuzo Organization in honor of Deidara. Now, not only do they specialize in the Kekkai Genkai, Explosion Release but the stolen kinjutsu of molding their chakra into substances ranging from clay to metal, similar to Deidara. They are often viewed as criminals, or at least, criminal producers, but so long as they do not detonate the country or leave the country, they cannot be considered missing-nin. Nonetheless, they are singled out and outcasted by both Shinobi and citizens of Iwagakure.
Kirigakure: Isobu + Chomei in possession
[ 0/7 ] Hōzuki Clan : Notorious for their unique ability to convert their body to liquified form, the Hozuki Clan are the sole users of the Hydrification technique, which is taught to all clan members. They are skilled users of Water Release techniques, able to manipulate the consistency of their liquified form to disperse or absorb water particles. However, the technique requires the user to be hydrated at the time of casting. Additionally, the user is susceptible to Lightning Release techniques when in liquefied form, despite the tactical advantages of absorbing or avoiding attacks.
[ Invite only; 0/7 ] 7 Swordsmen of the Mist : An organization of the most powerful blade-wielding shinobi and kunoichi of Kirigakure. Swordsmen are selected for their remarkable kenjutsu skills and battle prowess, requiring considerable skill, dexterity, experience stamina and physical endurance. Individual techniques and characteristics are dependent upon the individual sword, necessitating mastery of specialties to most effectively wield a sword. For a list of the seven swords and their characteristics, check the wiki page. All Kirigakure shinobi are eligible for ownership of any sword besides the Samehada, which is exclusive to the Hoshigaki Clan. The organization is under the jurisdiction of the Mizukage and often serve as protection to village officials, residing in barracks near the Mizukage’s residence.
[ 0/4 ] Yuki Clan : The Yuki clan has a history of being prosecuted for the possession of their kekkei genkai, Ice Release. Following the Third Shinobi World War, the members dispersed, regarded as “cursed.” The clan recently reemerged after the members in hiding revealed themselves, recreating the clan and cultivating the techniques. All members have an affinity for Water and Wind Release and are equally proficient in both, capable of combining them for their unique Ice Release techniques.
[ 1/3 ] Hoshigaki Clan : The Hoshigaki Clan consists of the indirect descendants of Kisame Hoshigaki. They emerged during the Fifth Shinobi World War, distinguishing themselves as notorious ninjutsu and kenjutsu users that served dutifully alongside the minimal Kirigakure military forces. They disassociate themselves from their Akatsuki ancestor and recently have been accepted and acknowledged as one of Kirigakure’s clans, rising to prominence through their significantly sizeable chakra reserves and prodigious stamina and endurance. Hoshigaki members have an affinity for Water Release techniques and Shark summon. As their training regime, all members are undergo thorough training in taijutsu, ninjutsu and kenjutsu techniques, capable of dispensing immense amounts of chakra in a combination of attacks. The Hoshigaki tradition dictates that most powerful Hoshigaki ninja inherits the Samehada, becoming one of the seven swordmen. Their appearance resembles that of a shark, varying in exhibition from the minimal blue-tinted skin to the radical characteristics of gills, sharpened teeth and skin the color/texture of shark skin (all optional).
[ 0/8 ] Yamuraiha Clan : One of the newer clans of Kirigakure, the Yamuraiha Clan emerged after the Fifth Shinobi World War. Founded by one of Kirigakure’s prominent military advisors and most distinguished sensor-type kunoichi, the members of this clan are her descendents and inherited her kekkei genkai, the Kaigara. They are considered one of the most skilled sensor-based clans, fostering innate talent at a young age which is augmented by their possession of the Kaigara kekkei genkai. The Kaigara manifests itself in their cerulean blue eyes, allowing them to mimic chakra signatures, though not the the chakra or jutsu techniques themselves, and associate colors to an individual’s chakra. (For more information on this kekkei genkai, please click here) Yamuraiha members have an affinity for the Strombidae summon – their defining animal – and usually have the Water Release chakra type.
[ 1/6 ] Aosuki Clan : Although classified as a clan, the Aosuki Clan is known primarily as a lineage of assassins that form an elite association, begun by Kirigakure’s infamous head hunter-nin after his accomplishments in the Fifth Shinobi World War. Proficient in the “Silent Killing” technique, the Aosuki Clan are known to be agile, adaptable and fast, eliminating their opponents in the least amount of time and effort as possible, usually by slitting their throat or striking vital areas. When the Silent Killing technique is properly staged and executed, it is a ruthlessly efficient attack, incapable of being defended against due to the target’s lack of awareness, therefore anticipation. They have an affinity for the Water Release chakra nature and specialize in weaponry, usually kenjutsu or shurikenjutsu. Using their water-nature manipulation, their signature technique is to shroud the battlefield in a thick layer of mist, concealing themselves and disorienting their opponent before initiating their attack. They are educated in misdirection and reconnaissance, establishing the basis for their abilities. Pursuing the family tradition established by the founder, many Aosuki members become ANBU or hunter-nin with their stealth and specialized abilities as they are highly sought after by multiple nations. Despite this, Aosuki tradition promotes benevolence and beneficial actions among their members, reflecting the legacy of the founder by proudly representing their family and their village. They inherently possess a strong, dark-blue chakra that is released when they are gravely injured, molding into demonic images of their choice. Although this chakra is harmless and does not injure upon contact, it does exude a powerful aura, as the Aosuki Clan is reputed to possess. [*requirement: all members of this clan must be 26 or younger.]
Kumogakure: *Matatabi + Saiken in possession
[ 0/7 ] Heliohapt Clan : One of the newer clans in Kumogakure, Heliohapt had been established following the end of the Fifth Shinobi World War. They had migrated from another country, or perhaps, another kingdom – one that is unknown and undiscovered by the ninja world. The Heliohapts are masters of kenjutsu with an affinity for Lightning Release, capable of channeling their chakra into their blades and charging it with electricity. They can then release the chakra stored within the blade to release blasts of electrical energy from the tip, varying in size depending on the user’s intentions, or emit a continual stream of lightning, forming an extending whip of lightning. They have an affinity for snake summons, as serpentine patterns are often included in the golden adornments that distinguish them. A relatively wealthy clan, Heliohapt members often wear golden accessories to signify the success of their clans and their noble heritage, accessories including golden bangles, anklets, earrings, necklaces and headpieces.
[ 0/3 ] Uzumaki Clan : The Uzumaki clan did not originate from Konohagakure, though after the destruction and flooding of their previous village, Uzushiogakure, some retreated to Kumogakure as a safe haven. They are masters of scrolls and possess lengthened life spans and large amounts of chakra.
[ 0/7 ] Kidori Clan : One of the newer clans to Kumogakure, the Kidori Clan was founded after the end of the Fifth Shinobi World War by a distinguished war hero, praised for his adaptability. Despite his military accomplishments, the founder sought to further his knowledge and garnered and instructed disciples interested in his techniques. Infamously known as the “Copy-Cat” Clan for their incorporation of different styles, Kidori members are instructed in the basics of a variety of famed taijutsu styles, capable of adapting and incorporating an enemy’s attacks in order to counter them most efficiently. Their techniques require one to be in prime physical condition and, as a result, members are both agile and versatile, training with additional weights to improve their overall speed and strength. They are proficient in chakra control, channeling their lightning into “contact” points on the body (i.e. fingertips, palms, knees, elbows, features used to strike an opponent) to increase the severity and impact of their blows. Kidori members have an affinity for Lightning Release and are distinguished by their ability to regulate the charge of their attacks.
[ 1/5 ] Midonari Organization : An organization of archers founded during and continuing after the end of the Fifth Shinobi World War, headed by an invaluable asset to the Kumogakure military forces. Membership requires proficiency in kyujutsu (bow technique) and exceptional accuracy, aim and attentiveness. In addition to the rare usage of kyujutsu as their primary technique, the Midonari are distinguished by their ability to combine Lightning and Wind natures into their weaponry, functioning in tandem to increase the lethality of each arrow. Using their body as the source and conductor, the Midonari are capable of generating and enduring the electricity necessary to “charge” their metal arrows. By channeling their lightning nature chakra into the arrow, they propel the arrow forward through an optimal medium of air, regulated by their wind-nature manipulation, increasing the speed and force of the arrow. Such mastery of kyujutsu requires rigorous training and most Midonari members are selected at a young age for their exceptional marksmanship, training to withstand the charge and extend their range. The Midonari may have an affinity for Lightning Release or Wind Release, but must become proficient in both. As required of their weapon, they also have an increased range of attack, necessitating precision in their ninjutsu abilities.
Amegakure: A small, industrialized hidden village of the rain, shinobi that hail from this village are generally skilled genjutsu users. The exclusive location of Amegakure and the constant deluge of rain contribute to the sense of secrecy and seclusion the hidden village provides, raising each shinobi individually to endorse original techniques. There are a limited amount of shinobi and kunoichi that hail from this village and it is rumored that they endorse assassination techniques.
- [ 0/5 ] Kurama Clan : Once one of the prominent clans of Konohagakure, the Kurama Clan relocated to Amegakure for a reprieve from the horrors one of their clan members once inflicted and also as a preservation and continuation of their interests. Known for the genjutsu abilities, Kurama Clan members are extremely skilled at using genjutsu in combat situations, usually manipulating their enemy through projections of their fears to control the outcome of the battle. However, they are most notable for their kekkei genkai: an ability that accesses the full, formidable potential of genjutsu, though it is only granted to a singular member once every several generations. (For more information on this kekkei genkai, click here. Be aware that not all Kurama Clan members possess this ability, as it is an immensely rare occurrence.)
Jomae Village: A village located in the Land of Keys, specializing in espionage techniques for collection of information on larger, more powerful nations. Using this information as leverage, shinobi in the village are trained in gaining information through strict and subversive observation. They are trained in defensive maneuvers; their sole objective to complete their mission, sacrificing themselves upon failure.
- [ Invite Only ; 0/? ] Kasui Division : A specialized mercenary division independent from the Jomae Village Council but residing near the village within the Land of Keys, associating themselves as neutral despite their militant approaches and associations. Originally from Konohagakure, the division had been disbanded with the defection and disappearance of the leader immediately after the end of the Fifth Shinobi War. He relocated and reestablished the system in the Land of Keys, selling his reconnaissance and assassination abilities while instructing others in his methods. Their technique includes the usage of a unique weapon – a wire with a bladed tip, similar to a shuriken but flatter and handle-less with one for each hand – to ensnare an opponent. The wires are made out of a pliable material capable of channeling the user’s chakra; the chakra surrounds the wires and blades to increase the lethality and range, allowing the user to maneuver the weapon as an extension of their chakra. By manipulating the direction and flow of the chakra, members of the Kasui Division can alter the tips’ course and direct them to their target. However, the amount of control one can exert over the weapons once airborne depends on the skill and experience of the user, therefore the weapons should be thrown with as much accuracy around as little obstruction as possible. The founder and the leader of this division selects and trains members himself, causing the mercenary division to be a highly prestigious occupation that is actively sought after by A and S-rank missing-nin for redemption and defense against their crimes. There are no known retired members, as all members serve until death.
Takumi Village: Renown for their skills in creating weaponry, the Takumi Village are talented users of bukijutsu. However, decades earlier, they suffered from the oppression and mass production of weaponry by the larger nations and more prominent villages. They were one of the many villages swept up and destroyed during the Fifth Shinobi World War and, in their resentment for the Five Great Shinobi Nations, led the rebellion against them. Although their rebellion failed, they have a reputation among the smaller villages and are respected by the Five Great Shinobi Nations, establishing a strong business of custom, quality weaponry for trade. The shinobi of this village are known to be ambidextrous and multitalented, capable of using a multitude of weapons and also capable of brandishing two weapons at the same time. Their primary weapon is the weapon of their choice and the weapon they specialize in crafting, each shinobi brandishing their own, hand-crafted weapon engraved with their name. There is still lingering resentment among the villages’ occupants, despite improving trade relationships and economic standings, but most shinobi interact normally with other villages’ shinobi.
Otogakure: After the disappearance of the hidden village’s founder, Orochimaru, Otogakure rid itself of its inhuman practices and experimentation, assuming an official hidden village status through the verification and approval of the Five Great Shinobi Nations. Otogakure shinobi use a diverse number of techniques, endorsing innocent experimentation and invention that had been encouraged when Orochimaru influenced the village. They are the sole users of sound manipulation through chakra, capable of disorienting shinobi by controlling the speed and frequency of the vibrations the human ears perceive as sound. These waves can be induced through unique instruments crafted by Otogakure shinobi, but not all Oto-nin are capable of using these techniques due to the variety present in their techniques. It is rumored human experimentation is still conducted in the depths of the hidden village, but there has yet to be any substantial proof confirming these rumors.
Takigakure: After the disappearance of the hidden village’s founder, Orochimaru, Otogakure rid itself of its inhuman practices and experimentation, assuming an official hidden village status through the verification and approval of the Five Great Shinobi Nations.
Unaffiliated:
- [ 0/9 ] Kouga Clan : A nomadic clan, the Kouga Clan are insistent upon peaceful coexistence among shinobi and nature, never approaching a hidden village nor remaining in any nation for longer than a year. Although it is unknown when the Kouga Clan had been created, rumored to have ruled the continent before the creation of the nations and rise of the hidden villages, they rose to prominence and recognition during the Fifth Shinobi World War, aiding the evacuees of the smaller villages and adopting homeless and abandoned animals. They are the only known users of multiple animals in combat situations, though they have never been observed to use summons or abuse their animal companions. They harbor disdain for the Aburame and Inuzuka clans of Konohagakure, as well as any user of summons, for their disregard for the animals’ needs. Despite this, they welcome anyone into their ranks and do not distinguish between the skill level of shinobi by rank name but by respect accredited to a specific shinobi. All Kouga members are required to cooperate in practice of their dogma. They use traditional ninjutsu and taijutsu techniques in tandem with their animal companions, adjusting for their animals’ specialties and capabilities by altering their techniques.
