How It Works
SO HOW EXACTLY DOES THE POINT SYSTEM WORK?
Each character will start off with 50 points. By doing various in character actions (and even some out of character actions), the character will earn a certain number of points depending on the action. For example: Welcoming a new citizen to the town can earn your character points. During this time, it is encouraged that characters interact with other citizens and visiting places to slowly trigger the return of their memories (hint: it is possible to meet people that they knew in their past life), they are also encouraged to speculate about the town itself. If at any point a character does learn the truth prematurely and chooses to share it around, the memories of the system are wiped from those involved. What they have initially is essentially the same as amnesia, but any memories that are wiped thereafter will not return.
Please be mindful that there are also actions that will cause points to be deducted, should the points reach 0 at any point, your character will earn their "one way ticket to hell", so to speak. That said, point deductions will more commonly result from disrespectful out of character behaviour.
These actions will be outlined here. We are always hoping to improve and expand the list, so feel free to leave suggestions on point quantities, other actions etc. by PMing an admin.
Most characters who leave the roleplay will be explained to have reached 0 points and earned their "one way ticket to hell" However, this is solely to keep the universe as well accounted for as possible, please keep in mind that characters are unaware of this point system and the only thing your character/s will know is that these characters went to the mountains and never returned.
CAN A CHARACTER EVER GET THEIR SECOND CHANCE AT LIFE?
Yes, each character will be given the choice to return to their past life and forget their time spent in this town once they reach 1000 points. At this point, the characters will have all memories returned to them regardless of what they discovered during their time spent at the town and the point system explained to them. For the time being this number is still tentative, we may choose to increase it or decrease it depending on how it actually works out. Keep in mind that it is meant to take a while to earn those points. Characters who choose to return to their life on Earth will essentially leave the RP, however feel free to apply again (that means yes you can choose to use the same person as before if you really want to, but they should be a different person and must start from scratch).
These characters can also choose to remain in the town for whatever reason, however they are forbidden to speak about the point system to characters who have not gone through the point system successfully (they should have no way of telling whether a resident has successfully completed the system except through speculation from what they learn in character etc.) They may choose to return should they change their minds at any point, but if the rule is broken, the memories of their past and the point system is wiped completely from their memory with no possibility of it returning, they also lose the option to return as punishment.
Note that in future we may consider adding more character groups if the roleplay gets big enough, such as a " living humans" group for characters that are living/return to the living amongst others.
Feel free to ask if you have any further questions.
