Selkies were thought to be only myths. Seals that, when on land, shed their skin in favor of being in human form. It's been said that due to their gorgeous looks, many humans have stolen their seal skin to force the selkie into marrying them. However, because a selkie's true home is the ocean, many times they can be seen staring longing to the waters, unable to return home without their seal skin. If a selkie were to find their seal skin, most would hurry to their true home. Nowadays though, it's the selkies' secret that they live among the humans. They guard their secret well and do their best to keep their existence unknown.
