Honestly i must agree with Bom/boksoongah,,
i think police officers don't necessarily have to have tattoo,,
i mean they are the government's forces anyway so why should they wear tattoo? Maybe some police officers in rl wear tattoo but neither the government nor the police department forced them/encouraged them to have tattoos.
Yes they're colleagues (Formal colleagues in Formal organization unlike gang members) so i think it's not necessary for them to all wear the /same/ tattoo anyways.
And if the cops are allowed to wear /different/ tattoos then what's the point of forcing that the cops must all have tattoos?
Plus, for those gang members who are undercover as police officers, are they going to have two different tattoos on their bodies? .-.
Out of curiosity - I noticed that police officers apparently also have tattoos, also mutually identical, like the shared identity tattoos of a gang. However, in view of the in character plot I don't understand why this is. Police officers are entirely different from gangs, and there's no tradition of getting tattoos, certainly not matching ones, among officers - they don't have any need for a gang tattoo; they're just colleagues, no more. I know Bom certainly wouldn't get such a tattoo, given that it was her choice. If this is some sort of au where the police are set up like a gang, but differ only in that they are approved by the government, then I understand. But I haven't seen any evidence of that, so I have no idea why a police officer would get a gang-style tattoo in this situation.
