Okay guys, so you know how you can request rooms and stuff? Well they cost points. Here's a very skeletal set up of how that goes.
All living spaces are free to request upon joining!! And it can be anything, as long as it suits your character. (For example, a rich mafia head probably isn't going to be living in a ty apartment unless there's a good reason, like he's slumming or something; or a poor orphan won't have had the money to buy himself a lavish house; etc.)
All other rooms will cost points. Most rooms will cost from 50-1200 points, depending on how high-end you want it to be.
Track managers can request a track!
50 points gets you a crude temporary desert track for whatever races you wanna use it for. Temporary meaning it will disappear at some point! But, to be fair, if you want to have a mobile track, you'll only have to buy it once instead of having to keep buying temporary tracks.
100 points gets you a temporary course through the city. Dangerous! (Side note: If you wanna hold a city race, check out the Introduction to the Scene page for some interesting information about using radios and police scanners to organize it, etc.)
200 points gets you a permanent track out of the way of the city of somewhat low quality. You have asphalt and traffic cones.
400 points gets you a permanent track with the added fun of steel fences and a few stands around the course and it's just within city limits.
800 points gets you a fairly well-established track with concessions, stands, locker rooms, and whatever other basics you need.
1200 points gets you a grand track, the likes of Vegas Velocity!
Mechanics and racing teams can request a garage or a shop or a combination of the two! (Note: Mechanics will obviously be paying for these rooms individually, but any team that wants to request a garage can pool their points to get it.)
50 points will get you a one car garage or shed at someone's house or something.
100 points gets you a two car garage somewhere on the outskirts of the city.
200 points gets you a nice sized garage and shop within the city.
400 points gets you an awesome garage and shop within the city as well as a few nice cars to fill it.
800 points gets you a warehouse wherever you like with room to work on your cars and places to work on them.
1200 points gets you a humongous garage for all your luxury cars and your own auto shop, as separate locations. (That's two separate rooms, folks.)
Now, these lists are mainly for the "average" income characters. Mafia characters have the freedom to request pretty much anything they want, however the price range is 400-1200 points, depending on what they want and the quality of which. (So like, 400 points might get you a grungy strip joint whereas 1200 points would get you a luxury hotel or a casino. You can also request tracks or shops, etc.) This sort of thing we'll probably just play by ear. A "Fat Cat" character will get a free venue of their choice upon joining!
How do you earn points?
Well besides being active and posting, you can also earn points by racing or betting on racers in Sanctioned races at the Vegas Velocity track! These are events scheduled and held by the admins. (Check out the Roleplaying Races page for more information on that.)
And because I don't want building and having rooms to be the only incentive to earn points (what would we do if this place just filled up with rooms and everyone wanted to buy high-end rooms of every kind??), I think it would be a fun idea to open up a "Custom Shop" where you can spend points on all kinds of crazy ridiculous things! Something within the rp (like buy another car for your character or something) or something less relevant like custom content from the admins! For example, M might sketch your character or se7enontop might write a oneshot for them or NabiyahLove might give their profile a design makeover! Doesn't have to be about your rp characters either, or even relevant to the rp. We can just go crazy with that kind of thing. Anyway, more information on that potential treat later!
