First Sanctioned Race!

Alright, well we had to do it sometime! This is gonna be like a prototype race, really experimental, and if it works out well we can keep doing it like this! So here's how the first

SANCTIONED RACE AT VEGAS VELOCITY RACETRACK

is gonna go!

All this week you will have the opportunity to enter your racer in the race! (If you don't have a character who races, don't worry about having to enter anyone.)

Racers please comment on this announcement and tell us about your character so we can introduce them properly in the races!

Some guideline questions: What's their name, age, the car they drive? How long have they been racing? What type of driving style are they known for? How often do they race? How often do they win? Basically, what kind of reputation in the racing scene do they have? What number is your racer? (in a legal sanctioned event normally each car has a number. We will make a list of numbers in a separate announcement, first come first serve.)

On Friday we will introduce all the racers at Vegas Velocity in a post! This is the day any spectators who wish to bet on the race should do so! Pick a racer from the announced line up and place your bets! Be sure to include how much you're betting on them, too. Please do this in a roleplay post. As in: roleplay your character doing this, don't just post a comment saying "I bet 20 bucks on [racer]" because it's a roleplay, and that's the whole point!

Once all the bets are in, Saturday is when the race itself will start! At the prompting from the phrase "Start your engines!" all the racers will ROLL THE DICE!! Then the race will be roleplayed accordingly, and hopefully it will be a lot of fun! (If you're confused about the dice roll, go check out the Roleplaying Races page.)

The race will continue until there is a clear winner! It might last a week, I don't know, it's kind of a trial run and we wanted to test out the system while we still have just a few members. This is also the reason we're giving ourselves such a wide window of time for each step of this process, so nobody misses out on it.

Jinya is a mechanic by nature but she knows her cars backwards and forwards and occasionally likes to give racing a go. She's a little fiesty it her personality and it sometimes transfers over to the track as well. She will take advantage of any hole she sees and exploit another drivers mistake without a second thought. She can get mad easily especially if she thinks she's been wronged by one of the other drivers.

Been on the scene for a few years now, just started racing less than a year ago
Max isn't exactly known for winning. If he has one a race, it was an extremely small one with other amateurs. But he really enjoys racing, so he'd jump at the chance to race in a Sanctioned race.
He's the type of person that would have a crew and be on a team, but as of right now it's just him.
Driving style is a bit erratic at best. He kind of fumbles his way through the races, but he's kinda risky in that sense with the way he drives. Extremely opportunistic when he races, and there's nothing really calculated about it, he just goes. He's also not very well known as he's still a total amateur and usually rookies don't stir up any talk unless they're really good or they cause a lot of problems.
Coincidentally, he's friends and roommates with a racer who /does/ fit that description. XD

Been racing for a couple years
He doesn't race often, but when he does he usually wins. He races for the money and because he's pretty good at it. Hasn't been in any really big races, usually just sticks to the smaller ones that guarantee a win for him.
More or less on his own, doesn't really have a crew or a team. Friends with Chance though, so he can get a good tune-up before the race if he needs it and the two of them will hang out around the tracks on race nights.
Driving style is really relaxed and controlled. No ridiculous flashy maneuvers or anything. Granted, he never raced in the ridiculous big races, so he didn't need to pull out anything fancy anyway, and he's fine to stick to that.
This'll be his first Sanctioned race. XD

Been racing about 4 years
Known as the Black Fox, for his patient racing, sneaking up into the lead at just the right time.
He's known more for his underground racing wins.
Has an Ice Prince/Bad type reputation with the fans and crew. He doesn't have a set crew, so he's more of a loner.
