Aurai Newsletter Vol. II

WELCOME to the newcomers and thank you all for being here! We here at the Aurai Academy are hard at work trying to figure out how to make this rp more immersive and active so that your experience here is unlike any other; in a good way. With that in mind we would like to unveil some of the features that set us apart.

EVENTS AND MINI-EVENTS:

We have touched on this idea lightly in our other newsletter and even a few times in the chatrooms but we are now fully prepared to unveil exactly what we have in mind. What makes our events different, you might ask? Why should you put effort into partaking in them?

The second part of this question is easy. Aside from being activity checks, they are also a great way to get points and put your character out there. It adds depth to your character and allows them to form a real history with the school and its inhabitants because here, the events actually matter.

What? Did you read that correctly? YES! Our events matter here and not just for admin purposes. The things we as a group do during these events will shape what happens here at the school and not just on a personal character level. There will be rewards and consequences for Aurai Academy as a whole for the events and each event and mini event will unlock more of the world for us to explore. Every few weeks we intend to open up new features and new areas of the map so that this becomes so much more than a school rp.

This here is an epic fantasy adventure and we are all stories within the greater story, each of us playing a part and manipulating the overall tale as we go.

AURAI NEWSLETTER:

We are going to introduce a student and faculty run newsletter here at the academy as a way to sort of add more character to the school. It will be a room that anyone can post in with various stories to be included in the newsletter. These stories can range from actual accounts of things your characters have done or witnessed at the school, rumors, gossip, and outright fabrication. That does not mean your character has to write them though. You yourself can write them and say it is from an anonymous source or make up a character that could be a journalist around town. Whichever way you wish to do it, each submission to the newsletter will be worth 10 points.

Once this information is posted, your characters will be able to reference the stories and they can be used to add more flavor and context to the world we are all shaping here. It is also a good way for us admins to sort of give more layers of depth, hinting at maybe where we want to take the school and what is going on outside of it. But not everything in the newsletter will be accurate, just like the real news so it can be fun to speculate.

To go along with this room, we will also create a tumblr where all these stories will be kept to be viewed at any time.  We look at it as a great way to let you all become more involved here at Aurai Academy because a sense of community will set us apart and keep this place strong in the long run.

ADDITIONS:

We are forever going to be adding and changing rooms here at Aurai Academy to suit what we need so you will be able to quite literally see the world changing as go. In this edition of updates we are adding some stuff specifically for the Sentinels here, some odds and ends to put important information right at your fingertips, and event rooms which will either become permanent or replace rooms which we already have. It is as we have said, ‘the world changes with us and so does the story.’

SECOND CHARACTERS – That’s right. We are allowing everyone the opportunity to earn a second character. Once you reach 150 points on your first character you have earned the right to get a second one. Just follow the regular application instructions and a second character will be all yours.
