july a.c|rule changes| health+more
Hello my beautifuls, I hope you're all well and had a good week. And if your week was bad, then I hope your weekend goes good. There's a lot to get through in today's announcement but please do stick through to the end as there is a lot of information that needs to be absorbed by all that touches on rule related changes, the activity check, health and other things.
001 July activity check! Yes, the activity check for July is upon us at last and you know what that means! Those of you who survived the May check will have an idea on how this works, but for all the new ones this is how we do it:
{1.01 All characters will have their points reset to a whopping 1 (as zero is not an acceptable number). This also includes admins.
{1.02 You will have seven days to get your points count to 201. That's right 201 points, that's 201 room posts you have to make between now and the 21st (gmt+10).Before you ask, why 200 points, the answer is because the last check we did, 100 was much too easy for people. This is an activity check, it applies to EVERY. CHARACTER. INDIVIDUALLY. This means those of you with more than one character have to reach 201 points on your second/third and even fourth characters. Before I hear the "that's not a feasible time frame to get 800 points!" don't forget, I myself have 4 characters and we admins are included in this check. If we can do it, so can you.
{1.03 Once you reach your 201 points, head on over to the JULY room under the Activity Check tab, post on the character you've completed the check on and we will add you to the list.
{1.04 Those of you who fail to meet the check will be removed. No warnings, no heads up, no reminders. Straight up removal and the applicant will need to completely reapply if they want to come back. Please remember, this will mean all your chat history, wall&pms will be gone entirely. If you want to keep this, don't fail the check.
As a side note: While undergoing the activity check (here meaning once this announcement goes live), hiatuses of any kind cannot be requested. Those of you who are already on hiatuses, we understand if you cannot make the check.
002 Rule changes. Moonlight Origin has grown a lot more than what admins expected and with the growth has come new challenges for the team to undertake and work through together so we can maintain the harmony and joy people joined us for. Because of our goals and our viewpoints, we had decided to make modifications to the dating ban rule as this is the most overlooked rule and action needs to be taken. Below are all changes relating to the dating ban and topic of penalisations.
{2.01 A new rule has been implemented that accompanies the two week dating ban and that is a one week no / ban. For the first week people join Moonlight, they are not allowed to participate in ual activities. They can still talk about it, make jokes about it but they are not to participate in the physical aspect of it. This change is one we will needs to be implemented because while it's great people are joining, some are joining with intentions only to pair off or engage in ual activities and while we don't mind this at all, we yet again want to stress that we are not a match making or based roleplay, so for that first week, we want to give people a clear shot at actually establishing friendships with people.
{2.02 With the increase of new people joining Moonlight, we have decided to make the dating tracker room public for everyone to see so no one should be asking when their ban is over because they can access the information easily. The room is under the information tab and also includes a link to a blog article that outlines what "dating" is. We have included this extra information as there seems to be a miscommunication as to what "dating" is. It is not just used to describe being "boyfriend/girlfriend"with someone. If you want more information on this, check out the blog here. Any questions, direct them to 9s's inbox. Access the profile here.
{2.03 After a lot of discussion, admins had agreed on implementing cooldown period for people who are breaking the dating rule- or any rule in general. What this means is if admins find a character in violation of breaking the rule, the applicant will be removed from their character and the character placed into the cooldown section of the masterlist for 48 hours (two days). If the applicant has alternative characters, they are still fine to participate in regular activities as long as those characters are not in violation of any rules as well. We did talk on the possibility of giving out a warning before issuing a cooldown period but have come to the conclusion that everyone knows the rules. They are in the Description, they are in the Rules, and additional rules for things not covered in there are located in their respected rooms where anyone can access and check when they please. We have given the tools needed to be aware of the rules, even mentioning core ones that we see are getting a little grey zoned in announcements so there is no need to be hand holding. After the cooldown period, admins will re-accept that applications, meaning applicants don't have to reapply. We hope that this will help deter people from bypassing rules in place.
003 Now that Moonlight Origin has grown as large as we are, admins are aware not everyone is going to peachy with everyone. Sometimes you just don't click with people, or something someone does or says grates on you the wrong way and it frustrates you. The admin team want to reach out, and let you all know that you can come to us about /anything/, big or small. We always want to help give an unbiased opinion and advice if you need it. Having people come to us makes us feel we are doing our jobs and are being as approachable as we want to be. No one should be scared or nervous to speak to admin, even if the person has beef with another admin or even the whole admin team- you all have a voice and we want to hear it. So please, if there's something bugging you or you feel in the slumps, you're welcome to come to any of us in our PMs to talk. Maybe we can do something to help or maybe we can just be an ear for you. There's always something more we can do for you, and we want to improve so please help us to help you.
004 Once more, the admin team would like to touch on mental health. Mental health is a delicate topic that affects people differently. We never want anyone to feel as though they are alone, or there's no one listening. We listen, we are always there for you, not just IC but OOC too. This ties in a little to the previous point above- you can come to us privately about anything. Having issues OOC with friends/family/work/life and need to vent or would like some unbiased advice? COME TO US. We care about each and every one of you. Let us be there for you so we can help keep you smiling and in a good head space.
005 So far at Moonlight, we have been exceptionally lucky to not have a rising issue out of this but I feel now that there is so many members of our starry family, that we need to briefly touch on this: No one should e v e r be made to feel guilty for rejecting someone. Love is more than just finding someone, it's about the events that lead up to meeting the right person. Sometimes heartbreak is going to happen, that's a part of life, but it's the heartbreaks, mistakes and tears that build us up and teach up how to move on and strive forward always. You can't help who you like, but the opposite is also the same- you can't help if you don't like someone. That shouldn't be something to feel shamed or guilty for.
006 Finally, and for reaching this far I thank you! But lastly, the admin team is interested in adding another person to their ranks on a trial basis. We ask only two things: that you have some knowledge on how rooms work (such as knowing basics to make a room, edit it where needed and so on) and that you have KakaoTalk so we can include you into the admin chat. If you're interested, please let us know in the comments. At the moment, two admins are GMT+10 (APR-OCT)/GMT+11 (OCT-APR) and another is GMT-5.
Hell of a read, if you can comment how long it took you to read it all along with your main face claim, I'd appreciate it. Just so I can see who stuck around to read the whole thing.
