start of term feast
announcements
The very best evenings to you!
To our new students, welcome, to our old students, welcome back!
Another year full of magical education awaits you; it will be very much the same and somewhat different than it’s always been. There are some delightful changes to our curriculum, which you should have read in your acceptance letter sent to you by your owl.
Today marks the first day that we will be using muggle-inspired technology! Cellular devices, laptops, and tablets will be used in hopes to facilitate better communication throughout the school. This will allow for better connection with your peers and staff members, to encourage a close community while also providing efficiency for handing out and turning in assignments, depending on your professor’s preference. Textbooks will not be online, however, and will continue to be on paper. We will stay old-fashioned in that regard to protect the authenticity of each book.
Before we begin our banquet, I would like to say a few words that Albus Dumbledore, our previous headmaster—bless his heart and rest his soul—has said before. And here they are: Nitwit! Blubber! Oddment! Tweak! Thank you.
Tonight’s meal includes roast chicken, asparagus, and roasted garlic potatoes. Vegetarians and vegans will have crispy quinoa cakes in place of their roast chicken. For dessert, you will have chocolate gateau and ice cream!
Once again, welcome to Hogwarts, and now let us enjoy our great feast!
— Professor M. McGonagall

The Start-of-Term Feast, also known as the Welcoming Feast or the Great Feast, is the traditional feast of the first night at Hogwarts, welcoming the start of a new school year. Just as it kicks off the school year, this feast will be the very first event in the roleplay. We are well aware that you have already interacted in character. This event should have happened before all of that!
This will be a casual event that will last for three days (two hours in rp time) in the Great Hall. Do keep in mind to not flood the room with paragraphs, as to keep it simple and easy to interact with others. Try to keep the threads on the shorter side.
Remember to be kind to one another.
