The students were summoned to the Great Hall after the near-devastating events of the acromantula invasion. The room was completely empty of the tables that would normally occupy the space. Standing before the amassing crowd of students was Headmistress McGonagall, face creased with concern. Her hands were folded together in front of her stomach, and she was silent as she waited for all unharmed students to fill the room. 

The hushed whispers of the students silenced as the Headmistress cleared , and she begins her speech.

❝ Thank you for joining me on such short notice. The recent events have been terrifying, not only for you, but for the rest of the staff. I am not going to hide it from you all; I will be completely transparent and admit that we were not ready. None of us could have expected or prepared for an invasion by those gigantic, barbaric creatures, when we expected them to stay in their home inside the Forbidden Forest. 

Though it may bring you peace, it's hard to say that we are sure of their reason to walk upon Hogwarts grounds. It, at the moment, remains unknown, but rest assured, we will do everything we can to investigate and get to the bottom of this terror to prevent it from happening again. The Ministry of Magic has already been notified.

Now, I am aware that several of you have sustained minor injuries. Some had barely made it out alive. Right now, we can be thankful for the fact that we have not lost anyone. But that does not mean that we can settle now. 

It is imperative that we all take this as a lesson; Hogwarts, although a safe space for wizards and witches, young and old, needs to always be prepared. For whatever it may be. We cannot risk students getting hurt. 

But I want to say that I am very proud of you all for your bravery. Many of you have never seen these beasts. Many of you might have been frightened. And yet you have fought by each other's side. It takes a lot of courage to stand in the face of danger instead of running and hiding. For that, I will grant all houses points. Well done to all of you!

Now, I am sure that all of you are tired. Due to today's events, all classes have been canceled and you are excused for the rest of the day! You are free to do whatever you wish—of course, on Hogwarts grounds—and we will meet again for tonight's feast.
