mini reminder!
hello!

a serious topic incoming, here is your warning if you aren't in the right headspace for that at the moment. please do come back when you are! as this is a reminder for everyone.

people have shared their issues and discomfort regarding behavior and comments in the main chatroom. we want to remind everyone to be welcoming and kind to others. letting people feel left out/bullied is not the experience we want to give people.

the following days we will discuss this and you are welcome to vent/tell us your experiences that have bothered you. if needed, we can make a seperate room where you can share whatever you want. reminder: this is a judgement free space! approach this with an open mind.

please do not let your worries fester and reach out to people! the admins are always there to help and listen. if you aren't comfortable with that, we can think of other ways you can get help. let us know in the comments if you think that's a good idea/ if you would like that. also let us know your favorite color.

this would also be a good opportunity to introduce tone indicators to people who aren't familiar with it. tone indicators are used mainly over the internet and text to provide context and intent to your message.

a list of tone indicators:
/j = joking
/hj = half joking
/s = sarcastic
/gen or /g = genuine
/srs = serious
/nsrs = non serious
/pos or /pc = positive connotation
/neu = neutral connotation
/neg or nc = negative connotation
/lh = lighthearted
/nbh = nobody here (used in vague vents)
/sx or /s = ual intent (please make sure to use these only in rated rooms!)
/nsx or /nx = non ual intent
/t = teasing
/ij = inside joke
/m = metaphorically
/li = literally
/hyp = hyperbole
/f = fake
/th = threat
/cb = clickbait

these examples were taken from the tone indicators cardd. we strongly encourage people to use these if you have trouble understanding people's intent/context or have trouble with your own. it is not mandatory to use these. just a guideline to make it easier for people to understand and avoid miscommunications. do not use these jokingly!

thank you for reading this big block of text oh god it got so big

please comment down below what's needed ; ) thank you for joining and enjoying this rp. let's enjoy the spoopy season!!!! it's halloween soon!!!

i think that's a great idea. as someone who have been feeling sometimes 'left out' or just lost 24/7 i am in the main chatroom, making separate room for tags or just have a safeword (idk if we do rip) would be good enough. those tone indicators are nice and it's helpful, so thank you!
uhh my fave colour these days is mint

I HAVE A SUGGESTION FOR LIKE THE FEELING LEFT OUT STUFF.
Maybe make a separate room for tags? So that way couples don’t over run the main with all their threads? I’m not saying it because I don’t like seeing the couples because the couples are great and a lot of them do interact with people but when they do start tagging they could go to the tags room or slow chat so people don’t feel awkward or left our. And not just couples but other people using tags too. I just used couples as an example cause you see it more often

i think the rant room is honestly the best place for expressing such concerns. but there could also be a sub room labeled as such "concerns" underneath the rant room. i know the rant room seems a little ooc sometimes so i think it's fine as it is for people to vent where as a room for concerns could be for people to address ooc something that may have bothered them. of course the admins take pm responses and could post those there as well? just a thought.

in regards to the issue, seeing comments about a certain amount of muses taking up a room truly is disheartening. i have been on the end where i have been overwhelmed by the sheer amount of people talking and not finding a chance to speak or fit in /nbh but this place has allowed me to feel comfortable and actually use my muse to blossom and shine. i am a full-time worker though, so sometimes while im at work, i tend to hyperfocus on one thing or another and i dont see the whole chat because im in and out. it's never my intention to exclude anyone, but I have often left "tag me" posts when I am not fully there for people who'd like to interact. no one is obligated to, but the offer is extended to everyone. tag me if you wanna interact if the chat is crazy. same goes to people you'd like to speak with. the main chat is supposed to be fast. that's why there is the slow chat for those that may not be able to keep up. I'm just kind of tired free writing now...

but it just hurts to see people telling the media my muse is in to "leave" or "shut up" or that we're taking up everything. we're using the space given to us... what had been fun for me had become to make me feel like i was ruining this fun experience for people. it really tore me up for a bit because i really do try to include people when I can so it hurt to see that I was some sort of contribution to people not having fun, i guess.

I hope we can all get along and speak about this and have fun together.

my thoughts are all jumbled after work so im sorry if none of that made sense or came out mean;; my brain is so jumbled asjdj

i suppose my favorite color is crimson...

while making a safe space for people to talk these things out is inherently a good idea, i don't really see how it would be much different from the rant room(?) i just sort of assumed that was a safe space people have already voicing concerns in and receiving comfort / responses in return. /lh i've seen many places where an anonymous option for leaving thoughts and concerns only stirred up more issues because people began to abuse it by leaving bolder passive aggressive comments than they would have if their name were attached to their words /nbh, as well as people on the other end who overthink and are paranoid by comments they think are directed towards them. pming concerns to admins is also an option i suppose, but i think the admins are already doing more than enough for us on top of their irl lives and putting this upon them just seems a little unfair(?) even if they are alright with it, it just seems like an unnecessary additional burden to carry when it certainly isn't an obligation, especially since people in this roleplay are all adults-- at the expense of possibly sounding harsh or like an , i don't see why people can't at least make an attempt to talk issues they have with other roleplayers out in a mature, peaceful way without jabbing passive aggressive comments at each other because they're afraid of confrontation /nm, but also that's my personal opinion-- i, myself, am not a very confrontational person and i actually dread the thought of it, but i'd rather step up and try to resolve conflicts with people rather than watch it be suppressed only to build up over time and ultimately lead to a potentially even bigger conflict in the end.

also, thank you for including the tone tags <3 i know this may be a new concept to some, but i really appreciate the idea of it being introduced because many misunderstandings may have arisen from people making jokes that don't necessarily come across as jokes to others, even if they meant no harm. so i'm hoping these will help us all more in the future !! /g

What about putting the indicators in the description of the main chat room?
Uhhh I’m living for a soft grey recently

I didn’t even know what indicators were in all honesty so I’m glad it’s there for us to see because it does make a lot of things easier since not everyone can read each other’s minds. I know bringing up concerns or worries can be hard for some people because since some may be used to just letting it do it’s thing and not speak up but maybe something anonymous might help. So maybe they won’t worry about being judged about what they think.
My favorite color is sapphire blue or black

Oh I think one way to do it is to allow people to PM an account (maybe making an NPC character on an acc that has access from all admins) with their concerns and either share those anonymously in the intended room or in an announcement. This might help people who feel hesitant to have their names be attached and help you guys keep all the things in one place.

I’m a little apprehensive on a place to express our concerns. Part of this comes from even if no one will say anything negative back or judge, some may not feel comfortable if they say what they feel out in the open because they don’t want others to feel bad. Nagant knows my concerns pretty well and why I sometimes feel left out. There’s some other things that weigh on my mind that I won’t share here. Overall, it’s a good idea and the tone indicators are great as well and will hopefully help with misunderstandings. Idk my fave color rn is chartreuse

Also this is a great idea, it’s great to have a safe place for people to let out their thoughts with no judgement or criticism and I believe you guys have made this place just that. Every is very free and open(when they want) to express how they feel and I haven’t seen anyone backlash when they open up about how they feel. The community here has grown into such a strong, trusting, kind, and understanding community compared to other places I have seen that can become so toxic. You guys have done such an outstanding job in making such a comfortable and fun place to be. I’m very proud to be part of it.

purple is also my favorite color <3
