ok but real talk. there have been actual roleplays on this site with the mental hospital premise that have been absolutely way less appropriate than the little personal therapy rooms that you guys have for yourselves. menty hospy is not used in a way to appropriate or glorify mental illness. you are using it synonymously with a safe place to express yourselves and there is nothing wrong with that. the real issue would be if you were picking and choosing mental illnesses to cosplay without any research or respect for the obstacles people with mental illnesses struggle with every day. keep your grippy socks on, babes.

— frankly don’t think i’m in a position to be saying it’s right or wrong. though i think we can all kind of assume everyone who was partaking in using these rooms had zero intent of mocking anyone. if anything, i suppose we can take it as a lesson or whatever to tread carefully around terms associated with mental “issues”. (putting quotes around issues because i don’t necessarily agree with the negative connotation tacked into completely normal problems many people have to deal with.) but on the whole i think it’s also something that should be taken with privately if there’s an issue. that being said, i’m also assuming they did (?) take up the issue with an admin considering this was brought up at all. happy that you felt comfortable enough to speak up, but also i genuinely doubt there was any malicious intent behind the usage of “menthol hospy”. maybe this is just a step in the direction of more genz normalization, idk. :”)

+ whoever said that us using 'menty hospy' as an "aesthetic" and so or whatever, y'all are being too serious. coming from someone who's ACTUALLY a mentally ill person ooc (yes, diagnosed), i see there's nothing wrong with it either. if you see it as "mockery", there's a difference between MOCKING and JOKING. i understand that people get triggered whenever somebody disregards issues regarding mental health because anyone with a right mind would do too, but pleek we don't do that??? we're sensible enough to know if our actions are right or wrong. and ik y'all for a long while anyway (we spend time a lot.....) so ik y'all would get serious if things do get serious xddd people frl need to learn how to live a little and learn how to take a joke. they're just super sensitive and will cancel you for the dumbest things these days :| on another note, whichever you guys go with later on (hiding personal rooms or not), i'm cool with it :]

menty is also short for mental also slang for crazy…. terms are not used in mockery or for “aEsThEtiC” purposes. whoever thought so is sick for even thinking of it in the first place. everyone’s here to joke around and chill, don’t see any problems w it. nobody’s here to disregard the severity of real issues, everyone respects each other bcs everyone’s friends w each other :-)
