General update

Hi all, announcement numero quatres coming your way!

So some of you will have noticed a major update to the rp recently and that is the fact that we have welcome a new admin on board!
 

We're very happy to have Jeno come on board to help us out and to make sure that things are running smoothly when myself and Pixels aren't around. We extend the warmest of welcomes to Jeno and hope that everyone has been, will be supportive!

Onto a more serious note, now that we have a third admin on board, we've been having some behind the scenes discussions regarding things we've noticed in the rps 2/3(wow!) week run that we need to talk about.

The Good

We have a group of seriously passionate role players here and it's absolutely amazing how you guys have so much muse and bounce off of each other. For however long Venus lasts, I hope we have an absolutely amazing time.

The Not So Good

While we keep the above in mind, it has come to our attention from anonymous sources as well as our own observation that there are three issues that we need to nip in the bud.

The first : we're noticing a worrying trend of bubble roleplaying and bubble conversations in the ooc rooms. Almost every single mun in here has used the 'no bubble RPing' as their most important password in their app and yet some don't seem to be following this rule despite considering it so important. Please know that this is not on. We haven't given strikes out for this yet however this is something we're actively deliberating.

The second : we're also noticing a trend of role players not feeling welcome to participate because of the above issues. If somebody is being ignored in the chat room, please be kind and welcome them. They're here to have fun, just as we all are, but it can be hard if we feel as if we aren't welcome or are intruding into the space.

The third : the only way to say this is too be quite blunt, there are too many people here who have joined and not participated in the roleplay outside of putting up a display picture. Guys, we may not have a post requirement(because frankly, I think they're unnecessary and put way too much pressure to be active which just ruins your muse) and have pretty lax activity guidelines, but we do see who does and does post in the ooc rooms, in the ic tab, in the plotting tab, puts up profiles within the time frame given, etc etc. Please note that we will be forgoing the standard two week rule. If this is you and you have been in the roleplay for over 12 days, you will be receiving a strike if nothing changes by next weekend.

We've seen all of the above firsthand, unfortunately, and have done little until now because we've been figuring how best to talk about this.

Now please be aware that if you're at your thread/connection limit, that's totally fine and you should not feel pressured to reach out for more threads. The last thing we want is for people to burn out or feel like they're being forced to do something they don't/can't do.

However if you have the muse and the time or fall into the third category, we are heavily encouraging muns to reach out to each other. We see so many connections and plots in the plotting tab that haven't been taken; especially ones that are more or less the same request.

For those who haven’t been active: don’t wait for people to come to you, we understand that it can be very nerve wracking to reach out, but sometimes we need to make the first step. If you’re really that nervous, then please reach out any of the admin muses as we are gagging for threads!!!!!!

We're not looking to name names, we don't feel that that is fair, however we will be closely monitoring and, if need be, will be DM'ing people if we feel they are contributing to a less than positive environment.
