Beloved Ilhwazens, Happy 6 months!

The entire admin team is always immensely grateful for the vibrant community we have built together. Your creativity and engagement continue to awe us every day. We see you, we hear you, and we appreciate you.

Thus, as our thanks to you, we're excited to announce that everyone is now eligible for a fifth character.

However, please note that there will not be any further additional characters granted in the future AT ALL and that this privilege comes with conditions. To request for a fifth character, you must have four unique threads with four different characters and 25 points on each of your prior four characters. Furthermore, your application will not be accepted until you create an ad blog detailing your characters, desired connections, and why Ilhwa is so exceptional that you need five characters.

Effective immediately, Ilhwa will no longer offer semi-hiatuses and all characters currently on a semi-hiatus will be converted to a full-blown hiatus. We will be moving forward with having a clear hiatus system where it is only full-blown, four weeks at maximum, and with a six-week cooldown period in between aimed to prevent hogging. Full-blown hiatuses will exclude muns from inactivity warnings and activity checks if requested prior to a big event, provided all characters are active at the time of the request. This decision comes after multiple incidents where muns were confused about the differences between hiatus and semi-hiatuses and mixed up requirements. Thus, we believe moving forward with a clear-cut system where only one hiatus form is available would be the most beneficial for the community as a whole. If there are any extenuating circumstances, you may always reach out and we will try our best to accommodate any unique needs.

Our next incoming event is mandatory for everyone! While we acknowledge that the zombie event just wrapped up, we have been planning this upcoming storyline for a long time so that every character in Ilhwa can participate at some point within the event. This event will have major implications on Ilhwa's lore and will be a great chance at character development for everyone in the community. With that being said, we also want to inform you all that one of the key components of the upcoming event are royal assembly conventions where everyone that holds a political role must be present regardless of whether they are playable characters or npcs.

How will we do this?

if you check the masterlist, you will see that we have added npc head of households as playable characters.

All yangban families with an NPC politician must discuss amongst each other to see who will represent the family by playing their head of house during royal assembly discussions that will occur on the following dates: 12/2-12/6 and 12/20-12/27. We recommend that the mun elected is the one who is most knowledgable about the family lore, most likely the one who created the family in the first place. We are also aware that there are muns who have more than one character that is a yangban, and we would like to ask that each mun tries their best to not take on more than one NPC role as to prevent burn-out. Please have your family representative apply for the characters no later than DEC 1 10:00 PM GMT-8 / DEC 2 2:00 PM GMT+8.

furthermore, If playable heads of the household are on hiatus, we kindly ask they try to post at least once each meeting. If this is not feasible, we must ask that another family member steps in for them, similar to how other families are stepping in for their NPC fathers.
