Dearest ilhwazens,

Happy one year to all of you!

It’s been utmost pleasure to be able to celebrate such a milestone together with each and everyone of you. It’s because of each and everyone one of your contributions, be it big or small that we were able to recreate what Ilhwa is today. Therefore, from the bottom of our hearts, the cabinet and I would love to thank all of you.

Firstly, to express my gratitude towards all of you, I have a present that will surely please the majority of our populace. On behalf of the cabinet and I, we declare a revocation on the following words from announcement four: “please note that there will not be any further additional characters granted in the future at all..”.

I would like to commemorate our one year anniversary by announcing that everyone is eligible for a sixth character, given that you follow the conditions listed below:

Before considering a request for a sixth, you must have five unique threads (entailing each thread has to be with a different character) with your five preceding characters, as well as 50 points. In addition to the initial preliminary requirements, you must have at least one character married with another, a clean activity record with no inactive strike OR warning in the past two months, regardless of the reason.

As zealous as this can be, we will also consider requests for alts beyond the six proposed in writing, though this also comes with heightened requirements as the number of eligible alts increase.

Before we delve into other celebrations, the team would also like to re-establish these ground rules and we ask that you go through it thoroughly as there will be no future grace given:

(1) Future hiatus requests
Hiatus requests must be made with no inactivity sign attached to your name. If you want to forward a request and there is one attached to your character, you will be asked to clear it before we grant you the hiatus. however, I beseech you all to be responsible and not delay your request till the very end of your three week grace period. This is to prevent increasing cases of hogging and enforce more clear-cut cases in granting reprieves for your characters.

(2) Green Card Marriages.
After careful consideration, we would like to add on the following for future green card marriages. For the marriage to be applicable, you would need to complete all pre-requisite for all your previous characters in order to be married, apart from the marriage requirements. ( for example; if your temporary character will be your fourth (4th ) character is your list, you will have to complete the pre-requisite for a 4th. ) Failure to comply, will result in a rejection for green card marriage.

(3) Elopement/Weddings/Pregnancy
We would like to remind everyone for such events like elopement, weddings and pregnancy it is a mandatory requirement for the Queen to be informed.

(4) NPCs
To add on, we have decided to allow an additional slot for anyone who would like to turn their characters into NPCs. Therefore, you may now turn a maximum of two (2) characters as npcs should you wish to do so. However, in addition to the rule, the cabinet has decided that characters can to be turned into NPCs only if they fulfil the following criteria(s): 20 points, a summary of their contribution towards the ilhwa lore, have participated in at least one optional event and at least 2-3 thread (on-going/finish).

Returning NPCs
As for returning NPCs who wishes to be turned into NPCs once more for whichever reason may be. please be reminded that the status of NPC will not be automatically granted to you should you fail to fulfil the requirements as above, and your character will be deactivated.

(5) Rules, activity and guidebook
The cabinet and I would beseech each and every one of you to read through the general rules, activity rules and guidebooks once more as there were several changes made over the year. Please also be on the lookout for updates regarding sources made by members in the community in the ton directory! If you have found or made resources that you feel will be helpful for the roleplay or the member's immersion, you may send a draft over to the queen and we will add it under our discretion.

(6) Activity rules: Royal assembly.
We would like to reiterate the rules for royal assembly which can be found in the guidebook. Therefore, we will now be implementing dire consequences of poor work performance. Failure to meet the requirements for participation during royal assembly will result in a strike. Upon receiving three strikes, your character will be relinquished from their current political role and a demotion in their ranking which may or may not affect your family lore.

Now with that aside, our next upcoming event is MANDATORY for everyone! Therefore, all hiatus request henceforth will be rejected unless dire emergency.

should your character be in hiatus currently, they will still be required to participate upon their return as this will be a rather long event.

a mandatory activity thread check will be held.

Following pre-events of the upcoming event like the build-up of the famine and the subsequent royal assemblies to remedy the disease and its indirect effects, we have been planning this upcoming storyline for a while so I implore that every character and ilhwazen can participate at some point in said event. similar to the zombie and battle of hamgyeong events, this event will have major implications and effects on Ilhwa's lore.

Furthermore, there will be opportunities opened for character development for everyone in the community to take advantage of!
