I am mobile, so this won't be pretty, but I have some curious questions for everyone and before I fully get into that, I just want to let everyone know that I am thinking about promoting this roleplay outside of RPR. If I am to do that, I will be doing cross-plaftorms for this roleplay. It will be a lot of work for me, so I will need all the help I can get with it. What exactly does that mean? Long story short, I'll be running the roleplay here on RPR for those who want to stay and write here, but opening up on another platform as well to run simultaneously for those who would rather use another platform. Now, I know this may raise a bunch of questions, and feel free to ask them below, but keep in mind that this isn't set in stone and I am still thinking everything over. I also have questions for you guys and want to have a discussion about everything regarding this matter. Here those are:

What are your general thoughts on having another option as far as roleplay platforms go? Do you think you would want to try another platform? You don't have to, but I'm curious.
What other platforms are you wanting to try? Right now, I'm considering things like discord, tumblr, mewe, and jcink because of their dark mode features, push notifs, etc. but I'm still weighing the pros and cons of each. I'm open to suggestions as well!
What kind of things do you wish you had as far as features go? While I can't guarantee that each platform can offer every little thing, there are some that have neat ones. Like, do you like having an OOC space to gather and socialize with muns? Do you like being able to track your threads automatically? Do you like being able to toggle between light and dark mode? Things like that.

If I have more, I'll add to this list and ask more questions in the comments, but for now that's all I have off the top of my head. Let me know what you guys think below and please try to respond as soon as possible! Also! Keep in mind that this is cross-platforming and we are not moving to another platform. This roleplay will still be up and open if this goes into effect. So, for those of you not interested in other platforms, fret not.

What are your general thoughts on having another option as far as roleplay platforms go? Do you think you would want to try another platform? I honestly like other platforms and have rped on a lot, including facebook, mewe, jcink, tumblr, etc. I'd happily use another platform

What other platforms are you wanting to try? as mentioned I've tried all of them-- I think discord would be an easy transition (with bots that allow you to post as various characters and threads, and channels for easy group splitting) and mewe a close second, jcink would be a distant third. my one dislike is tumblr now as I just don't feel that it is easy to use enough in a large group setting

What kind of things do you wish you had as far as features go? I love being able to toggle between characters easily (jcink, discord, rpr) and the ability to group threads / track them separately (discord, mewe, jcink). distant others are being able to do pretty formats (jcink, and somewhat rpr and discord), having easy chats (all except jcink)

I'm going to echo the sentiment that I'm concerned about hosting cross-platform. there will be certain people who will only want to rp on one platform and they will have limited interactivity with characters exclusively on the other platform. plus it would be difficult to ask admin and writers to keep track of two platforms at once. it feels like we'd be sacrificing experience for accommodation across platforms, which ultimately I think would cause more problems than harm. I would just pick one or run two versions as sister sites which I've seen some success in

beleth has read this! i don't have any preferences (tbh would totally try out the other platforms) as i haven't tried any of them, at least not w an rp such as this. sorry if this is a non-answer HJHDJ but i'd be happy to try whatever!

It's fine for me to try other platforms to reach a bigger audience, but the biggest issue that will be faced when doing this is that there will be a struggle switching between said platforms. Yes, those who wish to continue writing in rpr can write in rpr, but considering the activity in rpr nowadays, it might have less activity in comparison to, let's say, tumblr considering how tumblr rp would be a whole new audience entirely. So then the only choice left in that would be to also go to tumblr and then we'd end up be switching between the two. I guess my general worry is that there will be a struggle in juggling two different platforms, so it feels as though just abandoning one for the other might be easier especially since people from tumblr may most likely choose to only be on tumblr rather than join those in rpr.

I think those listed platforms are the only ones that are most available right now in terms of rping actually! I lean towards discord and tumblr more since they might be the easiest to use in terms of having multiple characters. I have never used jcink before but I am always willing to try new things. There are pros and cons to discord and tumblr but, personally, discord seems to have the least cons.

I guess being able to socialize with muns is what I am looking for the most. If tumblr will be used, I suggest having a discord server for ooc talk. That way there's still a place to speak to each of the muns!

⸺ i haven't rped on any other rp/writing-forward platforms before so i don't have too many thoughts or opinions to share! i guess the only question that comes to mind is if by having the rp here and on another platform, would that then silo folks from rping together unless people here or there were to decide to rp/make accounts on both platforms? i like the idea that it opens another option to invite folks into this wondrous world and setting but i also like the simplicity of everything being in one place, if that makes sense? which is all to say that i am open to the idea of a newer, potentially better platform. but, i can also see this being a lot of work for you to handle, which is fine if you want to! but also 1) please don't overwork yourself and 2) it's better to full- one thing than worry about half-assing two things.
