tmi; a small world explanation (please read)

So, it's come to my attention that main ad and I have done a rather poor job of being admins, and have yet to work on the full explanation of this world. Instead of updating the world page, I have decided it would be better if I posted an announcement, especially since it alerts you that an announcement has been posted. In addition to a debriefing of the world, I will explain the announcement system and whatnot. If you're bored, too bad. Please, keep reading.

This is set in snk verse, if that was not clear enough. However, we are not in the same area as the anime/manga. We are not under Wall Maria, Rose and Sina. We do not have the same towns, such as Trost and Shiganshima. The backstory ( that the admins neglected to explain fully, oops ) starts with a straggling group of Survey Corps soldiers cut off from the main group during a particularly disastrous expedition. They know there's no way they can get back to the walls at their rate, and decide to forge forward, in hopes of escaping the titans. It's a bitter journey, and many lives are lost. As they continue forward, there are less and less titans, and traveling is faster and easier. They find themselves in the general region of Asia and they find a set of walls, not too different from the ones back home.

However, these walls are structured very differently. They aren't in concentric rings, but rather in a crude version of Yin and Yang. In respect to the Asian cultures, they name the areas Yin and Yang. As the years slog on and population increases, Yin finds itself populated with the poor and Yang finds itself home to the rich. After a peaceful set of many years, titans are discovered again and the titans deal a heavy amount of damage to humanity. In the face of this crisis, the original expedition group, now pleasantly old and wizened, decide to set up a system exactly like the one back home, with the three factions and commanders. Due to the considerably newer and different conditions, the factions don't always stick to their own jobs, having to spread the duties among each other more evenly.

As for the announcements, what they are will be expressed in the title. The different ones will be:

news update; (filled with in-character information, most likely plot advancements.)

briefing; (most likely to be used to announce expeditions or special in-character events.)
