Ancient legends will say that there exists a world in which the living and the deceased are one. A world which stemmed from the deaths of twelve animals given in sacrifice to save the Earth. A world so similar to the land of the living, but where one is free… free from physical pain, free from anguish and sorrow, free from death. It has been called many, many things over time, given various names, but all who’ve ever witnessed its existence can agree on its one true name—Nirvana.
Tradition says that the twelve animals sacrificed for the Earth were the children of a being named Origo. He sent them to this realm when it was just a void—cold, dark, and barren—but over time the animals helped to turn it into something like their own personal paradise. When Origo passed, the domain had threatened to vanish without his protection, but then the animals were blessed with the abilities of Origo and were able to watch over the realm. The spirit of Origo entered the void and bestowed upon the animals the responsibility of being guardians of what was now going to be the spirit world. As the new guardians, they were going to help decide who deserved a life of eternal paradise and who deserved to be damned. And when Origo deemed them ready to finally rest, he’d bring in a new set of guardians.
It has been eons and eons, and Nirvana has seen many sets of guardians, seen many periods of peace. Now on the fifth set of guardians, and though they've been leading the realm for quite some time, the realm is on shaky grounds. Just after the fifth set of guardians began their leadership, they were visited by the spirit of Malus, a being who infected and corrupted many spirits in the spirit realm. The realm still remains a place of peace and prospering, but with these new found threats (Malus and the corrupted spirits), the guardians may just have a lot in store in their near future.
