Helloooooo~ o u o
I just decided to share my thoughts on the title tracks of Monsta X, one of my bias groups. :) I'm going to rank them respectively based mainly on the song itself (some comments on the choreo too), with some commentary involved ^^ Hope you enjoy reading-
8. Rush - The hook to this song is pretty catchy, and is something that I would like to dance to, although I ranked in at the last place since it wasn't as memorable as the other title tracks, and it didn't really grab my attention much.
7. Trespass - The chorus is bombbbbbb, the rappers really do nail it-- While I find the song lit, and I thought it was solid, it didn't blow me away as I wanted to, it was a bit, in the middle of the road for me. Still would listen to it on a regular basis though.
6. Shine Forever- Yeah yeah yeah~ An actual bop, hook is solid, the pre-chorus also rocks-- Those were the best parts for me, and Kihyun was also having it with those vocal adlibs > u < Although I think the songs above this had a better, punch, or "oomph" to it? I, for one, like Monsta X's choreography in general, and this is no exception, I remember that there are pretty nice transitions and group dynamics or formations, but I think their other choreos stood out better.
5. Dramarama - Well dang, from top five onwards, it was pretty tough for me to rank because, I really love these songs and I wasn't sure which one is better for me than the other, but I guess I got to sort it. The intro in this song is sicckkk, love me some guitars. The song also felt like something that would be in a movie soundtrack. Chorus was soliddd, I was feeling the intensity boy, and the rapping is yas. This would have gained points because I loveeee the choreo for this song, the dance in the chorus was sharp and awesome, and just feel-good as well. I would have placed this song higher to 4th or 3rd if the choreo is taken into account as well, but I'm basing this mostly on the song itself.
4. All In - There's something dramatic about the chorus and I couldn't explain what it is, but that's one of the things that I loved about this song. I also dig that part where they were redoing the intro in the end while Jooheon and Changkyun are rapping over it. Pre-chorus was a good build-up to the chorus as well, overall I just love this song. The chorus choreo? Wowza- That shoulder-rolling step in the chorus was so cool that it made me want to learn the dance X3 Lit choreo and awesome steps.
3. Jealousy - I was so torn on this. I was definitely torn whether for this to be on this place, or if I should have this song swap places with Beautiful, but heck, both were so damn good. XD I can't. I think this song had a better bridge (Rap line + the vocals) than the rest, maybe even a bit more than Beautiful. I really liked the verses here, some lowkey intensity in there, then the recurring "yeah yeah--" was a good addition. Loved the vocals on this as well. And that low voice "jealousy, baby jealousy". Dope, I wouldn't be able to help myself but also whisper that along. Freaking choreo on this was A plus. They went hard in with this one, in a great way.
2. Beautiful - Now, the reason why I decided to eventually put this song above Jealousy (despite liking the bridge of Jealousy better), is maybe because I think the chorus of the song flows better. I GOT GOOSEBUMPS ON THE CHORUS XD There's something magical about it, for a lack of a better word. And I'm not sure what do you call the sounds in the intro instrumental, but those were a yes, and hyppeeeeeee from the rapping, it was so good that my face is doing funny things XD I then like the contrast, since the pre-chorus was calmer, and more soothing, then building its way onto that, standout chorus. And the choreo, need I say more- They were so cool, the coat-passing, the slickness of the chorus, okay-- Time to stop fanboying and move on. XD
1. Fighter - I was also conflicted which to put at number one, because Jealousy and Beautiful were so damn close as well. But this song blew me away, and I felt from the verses, to the chorus, to the end, it was really consistent and I loved it all throughout. This is a song to get my lazybones working. Hypeeeeee-- The chorus was amazing, the harmonies, I don't know but there's something about the melody or the instrumental that gives me chills, especially when the last chorus comes in. And the rapping, once again, I mean, Monsta X has such great rappers, and it shows in their songs. I didn't love this choreo as much as the others, but the song, the sonnnnnnnnng. Anyways, I feel like my top three might change places every now and then though. *bricked*
That's it~ ^^ Thank you for reading--- o u o
