[ Warning  long rant ahead. use of vulgar language, this blog may apply to you so if you get offended easily by seeing things you do or did, goodbye. ]

First off I want to reiterate the fact that roleplayrepublic is not ing dead and it will not be for the next who knows how many years. Now is it filled with lazy people who procrastinate 80 - 90% of the time? hell yes it is. Is it filled with a bunch of people who don't want to go outside of their friend circle and or comfort zone of people they roleplay with? definitely, not a single doubt that a lot of people are just like that. But you what this site is literally what us (the MEMBERS and Community) makes it. it isn't a bunch of damn robots and automated just randomly generating accounts. It's actually humans with their own will, choice and rights. Now that's out of the way let's get into the whole purpose of this blog of how I, myself. And i'm pretty sure 99.9% of the site is too. Tired of people complaining about not actively trying to make or aid in solutions.

1. Complaining about places not being active and yet not using rooms yourselves, not going out to ask others to roleplay with you, always expecting others to come to you instead of going out yourself. Granted if you're the type to send out hell of a lot of rp request and only get one or two back. Then obviously there is
a problem and thus you should discuss said things with a admin or two (considering group pm is a thing now, tsk use it. )

1.5. (*this point is somewhat more so pointed towards au's, considering a lot of nonaus just crack in group setting rooms anyway) If you're going into a room with some half assed e.i "hello" "hi" "*walks in*" "waves at everyone" Be honest in a good themed au roleplay what type of interaction are you expecting out of something like this? you know after that last nice to meet you this conversation is dead right? and in turn giving people nothing to actually bring about a conversation with, who can you really blame for ending such a boring interaction.

2. (*more so towards chats usually ) People thinking because two characters are already present in a room that the said room is mysterious unavailable and or booked as if its some type of damn luxury couple suite like???? this has to be one of the dumbest logic i've ever come across, last time i checked the room was made for MULTIPLE people to occupy. Now i get it when SOME people are in a room and they have a pretty lengthy conversation going with someone it is difficult to entertain everyone especially if your connection is slow, everyone is typing super fast and if you cannot keep up thus those are very valid reasons. but that still doesn't give an excuse to ghost rather just state that you are a slow replying person and cannot supply enough of yourself to everyone and i promise you personally every will understand.
(ifnotthem)

3. Expecting someone to drop their rl and devote themselves 24 hours a day to roleplay with you. I get it a lot of people on here are literally high schoolers who have no life outside of roleplaying and going to the hell hole with the government name of high school. (and with that fact alone every roleplay should be hella active but sadly its not) But everyone cannot identify with those conditions therefor if you really think you're going to get replied 30 to 50x a day? oh poor baby you're in for a rude awakening. Now don't get me wrong i used to be that same high schooler getting all my chores, homework and done just so i could run my on here and run off to a reality i loved more than anything. And quite frankly back then i could do so because i was younger with no responsibilities shy of eating, school and sleep (which i was so ing deprived of it wasn't funny, but i still am lmao) Back to the point. I now have two jobs, trying to move out on top of building a career so you reaaaally think i have the time to devote myself to stay on here every single minute of my days? uh no. Now saying all that don't get me wrong I am active asf and more times then not i can get a whole hell of a lot of replies done. you may now be thinking "then what was your point" my point is you need to be patient and consider the people you are roleplaying with and or want to roleplay with's life outside of this site. But you know why i am active? let me tell you why.

3.5. I dont look at roleplaying as a chore with the mindset of "Oh my god i have a billion replies and i'm so lazy i cant get them all done, i promise i'll finish them all later with my lazy i'll procrastinate for 80 more hours okay bye" I actually genuinely enjoy it. and i get a kick out of every reply i do. Wanna know why? because  i dont roleplay with people i dont want to now yet another exception to this factor is admins because as a admin you really can't reject roleplaying with someone otherwise your rude, mean, selective blah blah blah or whatever other bull some self victimizing rper has to say. But if i dont WANT to roleplay with you you can 100% expect late replies or worst case no replies. and im sure that is anyone. Now it can be some exceptions to that as well since some people are just naturally slow on replies, has plenty and some starters to get to and on top of that god knows what other things. But MORE TIMES THAN NOT the reason people are leaving you on read and not responding in the speed you want  or you're the one doing it is because you don't want to roleplay with that person. which is fine, no one is or should feel like they are obligated to roleplay with anyone but the nice thing to at least do is instead of leaving them in the dark, tell them you'd rather not roleplay with them. maybe they'll understand and if not, oh well it isn't hurting you.

4. So now we're getting somewhere, now i've been seeing a lot of people (damn near every other blog i see) whining about not finding any 'good' or 'active' au roleplay and yet when someone gives them a link to a roleplay that fits their picky ing criteria they ....don't even join?? what type of logic is that. not to mention they probably think something a long the lines of "oh that person is just advertising their rp and its probably not even good so you know what im not even gonna click the link! " I've seen so many ing people join a roleplay just to leave one day later. how the hell can you decide you dont like a roleplay in 24 hours????? didnt you read the rules? check the chats and ? YOU KNEW WHAT YOU WERE GETTING INTO AND YET YOU WASTED THE ADMINS TIME AND ENERGY ACCEPTING YOUR .

5. This is about to be such a unpopular opinion  ( or not cause yeah right everyone thinks it though lmao)  rules against the taboo terms of face-chasing. Now hear me out before you go rolling your eyes because i get it, for one who really wants to be technically speaking character stalked? unless that s mutual then hey get married already. Buuuuut in consideration of Muse A actively going after Muse B. I personally don't see a problem with planned crushing which is basically what face-chasing is. The issue comes when people start ignoring people just to talk to that person, and secluding themselves from any other roleplay activity because they only want to bother with that ONE persona and no one else. Me, myself i dont hate face-chasing and if people do it i literally give zero s. but that isnt the same with every one else and i get it whats the fun in joining a roleplay with other people when you could just pm roleplay with who you're face chasing?? makes more sense right, i know. (i ing hate pm rping by the way so i'd never be doing that unless i reallllllly ing love you and your roleplaying lmao)

6. Now this is something that always used to happen whenever a nice thoroughly thought of and planned au came about in 2013 -14 - 15 even sometimes 16. PEOPLE WOULD LET IT FLOP THEN COMPLAIN THAT THE SAID ROLEPLAY FLOPPED AND THEN WHINE ABOUT WANTING ANOTHER AU JUST TO LET IT FLOP. people by now should already know how roleplays work but apparently they still ing don't. IF EVERY MEMBER DONT PUT IN THE EFFORT TO MAKE THAT ROLEPLAY WORK IT WILL NOT WORK. A way i think would help this problem significantly is flat out saying what you expect out of the roleplay as soon as you arrive because otherwise you will leave anyway because it wasn't what you want. if you go into a roleplay straight up forwards and   e.i  say "i want my muse to be a lost soul type that eventually changes with time and finds a lover and changes his path of life, not to mention throwing in a baby and meeting lots of friends along the way"  many probably won't admit it aloud but everyone literally (maybe not everyone idk) but most people have a set way they want their character to play out in whatever roleplay they join and the first or second sign of that not happening or interest of working towards that fades, they leave the roleplay.

7. Only joining roleplays where you know who the admin is, thus never giving new admins a chance to have a successfu roleplay journey. I've seen this happen sooooooooooo many times and it honestly is one of my biggest pet peeves. I've had a number of friends make roleplays that the theme was so spot on, intriguing and unique but you know what? the rp didn't do that well all cause the admin wasn't 'known' by a lot of roleplayers. which is the dumbest ing thing alive because just like everyone else you didn't know your 'favorite admin' before joining their roleplay idiot so why the hell cant you do the same with someone else. That is one of the most prominant reasons great rps die so quick. No one gives them a chance.

8. saying rpr isn't what it used to be years ago. sit back and really think about that. yeh people you knew back then moved on, activity flutuates like the damn ocean and things ARE different, but ding ding ding they don't have to  be. Every one is literally saying the same thing so you dont think if everyone DID something instead of COMPLAINED it wouldn't change? because it would. it takes a village not one person. so next time you tell someone rpr isnt how it used to be, discuss with them what yall can do to make it that way again the way you oh-so-miss it to be, kay?

9. WHY DO I SEE ROLEPLAYS WITH 70+ FAVORITES WITH ONLY 10 PEOPLE REACCURING ACTIVE THAT NEEDS TO CHANGE IM NOT EVEN GOING TO ELABORATE ON THAT .

I think i hit all my points and if not expect a part 2. this literally took me almost a whole hour to write but i have no shame considering i'm ing sick in bed doing everythink i can to heal before going back to damn work. smh. anywho yall better read it i will fight all of you if you don't, not really because i dont care but you know what i mean. and also excuse my grammatical errors. i wanted to get this out and quite frankly i dont care about how is typed it's the facts and stuff that matters.

So Honestly what i'm saying is if you want roleplayrepublic to be better you need to do better. with that said work on activity, actually wanting to roleplay, look at it as a hobby and fun, not work and labor, and be open minded. You don't have to be here, you want to.

*I'd love to hear your feedback too so dont hesitate to comment i really wanna know what and how other people on here think. so let those fingers fly.

Also now that i have your attention join (or just check out) this only superanatural au college and high school themed roleplay i'm in! (actual roleplaying, plotting, character development and cool going on. make it more great people. )

shout out the fault in our stars though, title credit lmao favorite movie and fanfic (only real bbh fans will know it tbh) and if you haven't already go watch this movie baby.
many people are still and lots wished for. and personally my favorite part is the fact it isn't your basic same old face claims, its hella ulzzangs (you've probably never even seen before) + your little biases so check us out, you won't regret it. and if you do well not everything floats everyones boat, BYE-YA THEN *click heart for roleplay link or link below.

I’ve been here for ages too (a little situation recently caused me to deactivate and create a new account) and I dare say it’s still active. Except now it’s non-aus that are, I guess the word is “trendy”. These are super active, crack filled and super popular too. For those of us who love writing and generally not just chatting, it’s hard to adapt to it. Especially when you’re trying your best to come out of a writing slump. This is a personal experience, I don’t mean any offense.

What I don’t like now it’s that it somewhat feels like high school; I see cliques every single where! Regardless of theme, au or non-au, if I join and no matter how much effort as I put into having a convo with anyone, it feels as if “if I’m not cool enough, people won’t bother”. Even if, by some major miracle, I make friends and people are willing to rp with me and I’m ready to commit to the plot and whatnot, I realize, the other person isn’t even the least bit interested or enthused about it. See, I understand if you’re not looking forward to it or simply don’t want to or can’t say no to anyone asking you to rp but it’s manners and general courtesy to let someone know if you don’t want to do anything to them. I will gladly leave you the alone! At least tell me so I don’t spend my energy and time into something you will halfass! God I get pissed just thinking about this! Ugh.

God I can’t even function properly enough to write more I’m so dead tired.

As someone who has been on this site for like years basically since it’s launch I’ve seen it go through it’s up and downs and it’s basically as active as it use to be in the past or at least to me? The more active rps are the non-aus and there are the popular aus but people tend to be more drawn to the non-aus. I will say that it has become very cliquey here and it deters me from joining any rp on the site no matter how much I like the au.

One, I don’t like the ic chats it moves so fast and people ignore others and it’s kind of who can be the coolest/use the most Twitter terms in a chat and I just wanna chill with a few characters and get to know people and like your character not you ooc.

Two, when I tried my best to rp with others and make plots and update my bio they like never reply and then they say don’t poke but I’m like if you’re gonna leave me hanging at least tell me so I’m not wasting my time.

Three, people will literally only talk to some people so they can sleep with them so it’s so useless and I hate rping here so much sometimes I feel like I’m talking to a wall so I feel like there’s no point in joining a place anymore

I join an au so I can flesh out a character and a have a story but then some people are so dry and yeah I just don’t think I’m personally made to fit the structure of rpr I prefer rping on walls instead of feeling like I’m competing for friends by proving I’m so cool in a ic chat with a bunch of high schoolers

Tbh I’ve kind of given up but I’ve also been trying to be better at being in rps bc no one wants to pm rp

the fact that many people complain about rps dying so quick forget the fact that if something is quickly successful, it'll most likely die really fast as well.

I came back to rping after a year of just ing around in the chat. anybody who says there's no literate rps anymore is either someone who never puts the effort in to find it or someone who fails to achieve the concept (ooc/crack in the ic chat). I've joined plenty of literate rps that lasted quite awhile. even found a rp partner that i see myself writing with for some time.

for those who think they don't exist anymore: maybe you're just joining those that have too many of your friends in them? you tend to be more serious around people you don't know so

for those who have issues with a flopping rp: maybe stop choosing your unreliable friends as your coadmins??? start choosing friends out of your circle that would be more suitable with an au rp? have a group of friends that are more suited for nonaus? stop making any of your friends as coadmins just because they are friends. think of it as you being the manager hiring new workers. now, you wouldn't want a group of slackers, would ya? you're just setting yourself for failure.

+ i hate it when people hype up rps so much and give it so much live before it's made

but when the actual rp is already out

people ignore it altogether

a reason i’m so tired of making rps is because i’m so annoyed of members and how some just don’t... try? like i get maybe IM not trying but sometimes i DO try so like ... it annoys me. i just want to open up an rp that’s not complicated and really try my best because i want a gold star for making rps because so far it’s been pretty floppy. and it’s not just the member’s fault i have the horrible disease of giving up after a few days of trying to kill the quiet

as appreciative as i am of this post, i kinda worry if this will fall on deaf ears or if it will just be something people "agree with" then pass over... time and time again have i seen or even made posts similar to this, time and time again have i seen people in the comments be like "PREACH" and "OMG YES THANK YOU" but nothing changes
for once, i kinda just want people to like... DO , y'know? i don't just want to see them agree and then move on, and i don't just want them to be like "yeah, i want things to change" or to point out what needs to change over and over again to no avail
nothing will ever get done that way and we haven't been making any real progress because of it
i'm hoping this time will be different, but we'll just have to see :")

fudge yeah as a senior member of this site, I agree with every point you smacked up there. I hope half of the members read this and realize there's nothing with the site itself, the mods (and rps admins) are already doing the best they can, it's up to us, the members, now.
btw, hope you're feeling better soon!

I’VE BEEN WANTING TO MAKE A POST ABOUT THE AU RP THING FOR A VERY VERY LONG TIME BUT I WAS TOO SCARED TO DO IT. BUT SERIOUSLY PEOPLE NEED TO STOP PLAYING ING FAVORITES WITH AU ROLEPLAYS IF I TOLD YOU HOW MANY ROLEPLAYS IVE OPENED AND ADVERTISED FOR AND THE AMOUNT OF ES WHO LITERALLY LOOK AT IT, FAVORITE IT AND NOT JOIN OR JOIN AND NOT DO ANYTHING OR RESERVE A CHARACTER AND NOT JOIN THE RP I’D BE A RICH WOMAN. It’s annoying as hell and it’s GOT TO STOP. Just because I’m not as popular on this site like a lot of “rpr veterans” doesn’t mean I don’t have great au rp ideas too. Next the amount of non-aus is too damn high. I’m so tired of seeing them everywhere I ing look on this site. I mean I get that people wanna chat and take a brain break from actual roleplaying, but it’s called ROLEPLAY REPUBLIC FOR S SAKE. Quit being lazy and use your brain and rp for s sake. But anyways I’m done ranting, some people on this site can be so damn annoying geez.

i'm at fault for some of these things but i have to admit, it's true. let's hope for the best in the future, yeah?
