Sorry we’re supposed to be done but wanted to say something

I wanted to make a post about why ualizing minors is different from any other crime and why it’s especially important and terrible for sites like rpr. 

First: the legal definition of ography from the Canadian government + a link to some more details about what constitutes as a crime in relation to it

    •    163.1 (1) In this section, ography means

    ◦    (a) a photographic, film, video or other visual representation, whether or not it was made by electronic or mechanical means,

    ▪    (i) that shows a person who is or is depicted as being under the age of eighteen years and is engaged in or is depicted as engaged in explicit ual activity, or

    ▪    (ii) the dominant characteristic of which is the depiction, for a ual purpose, of a ual organ or the region of a person under the age of eighteen years;

    ◦    (b) any written material, visual representation or audio recording that advocates or counsels ual activity with a person under the age of eighteen years that would be an offence under this Act;

    ◦    (c) any written material whose dominant characteristic is the description, for a ual purpose, of ual activity with a person under the age of eighteen years that would be an offence under this Act; or

    ◦    (d) any audio recording that has as its dominant characteristic the description, presentation or representation, for a ual purpose, of ual activity with a person under the age of eighteen years that would be an offence under this Act.

But TL;DR: 

Yes, RPR and lots of other sites and works in fiction write about and/or support crimes like murder, , etc etc etc which really isn’t all that great of us but. We’re not assuming that every user here is gonna turn around and commit a murder right then and there. So what’s different about ographers and ualizing minors? 

Well, the moment anybody puts any sort of visual representation anywhere about anything relation and a minor together? You are committing a crime right there. 

Yes, minors probably do it (which isn’t good but is not a crime) and yes it happens in real life or what not but the moment you, as an adult puts down on a website that you think this is okay, you have now created an article of ography and are now distributing it to a public accessible site. That’s a crime. You want to write about it as fiction? That’s a crime for the same reasons. ualizing minors in any way shape ore form and putting it out there for people to read? Clearly a crime. Yes, this may seem twisted and unfair but because you, the author, are an adult, you are indeed creating and distributing ography whether you intended to or not. You have put your seal of approval on a ual act involving minors and even if the original act doesn’t involve you, your words still count as the creation and distribution of ography. (Too bad the law really isn’t lenient if you tell them ‘I don’t plan to ualize minors irl’ bc guess what, you did.) 

This is a pretty bad description but we can keep it short: if you supported ANY sort of act of minors engaged in ual activity, be it somebody writing about two minors, an adult and a minor, somebody saying that minors or adults and minors engage in ual activity irl, or works which show this etc etc etc- it’s a crime. It’s not about consent, not about if it happens irl, if people support it, it’s hard law. 

So no, you cannot talk about 16 and 17 year olds doing it and say ‘that’s a thing that happens’.

You cannot plan to write or support writers on anything containing a minor even if it’s two minors together.

Just because it happens or because people support it doesn’t mean it’s right and doesn’t mean it’s not illegal. 

By the way minors? It’s not okay for you to write here, ESPECIALLY not about other minors or condone any of the things listed above. Because you have created ography and while you may not be sentenced to the same things, every single adult who reads your content is now in possession of ography (either created by children or containing children OR BOTH) and can be charged. So don’t do it for their sakes if not for your own.
