how to vn responses bc i'm tired of typing

honestly you could have the most unique idea out there, but if the dynamic of the environment isn’t at its best (school season currently), if it’s not what people aren’t as interested it, if people can’t handle atm, it’ll most likely go nowhere. I know you’ve mentioned to kill apathy, but imo, you have to think about it like a business because if it dies, it’s better off just pm rping. there has to be enough incentive for people to join and the longer the rp lasts gets tougher when there’s fewer people.

on the flip side, if we wish for more opportunities, it’s also not everyone else’s job to fulfill that for us.

+ i have seen so many new aus pop up that r unique and chill, some that are city au and filled with great writers and some of the people saying yeah preach preach are the same people who just chat in the ooc room and do not help contribute. at times its not even about the creativity of the rp itself, idc if the rp is about furry school au or naruto au: if i can do some bomb writing and go at my pace, i am honestly happy.

if i find myself less focused on working on my profile and less comfortable in a place no matter how unique it is or how i try to get myself out there (i never really have a problem w being social so thats not a problem for me) i tend to drift from the rp. the concept could be about birds and if i can rp and create memorable threads i would still love it regardless u know? i am kind of like idk i feel like i dont expect too much and dont get mad when new things dont pop up. if the admin team is solid and the rp is filled w dope writers i am attracted vs the concept is unique and everyone is just in the chatroom and not actually rping out the concept

part of me think the drought we are dealing w is due to people going back to school and such, rpr naturally tend to get much slower around these times. i dont think the problem is with the rps itself. i have been around this site for such a long time and have noticed quite a lot and seen a lot myself. the issue seem to be more so with the people.

i myself stop preaching about needing more aus and such almost a year ago because quite frankly? i realized every time i said that, i became a hypocrite and watched others do the same. we preach about wanting new rps but when it comes around we either join and do not help the advancement of its growth or simply skip over it because not enough people are there. i stopped preaching about it and making a difference myself. but i have noticed people are still doing the same thing.

at one point, everyone was complaining about the lack of aus.
- then i noticed we got tons and tons of aus. just for people to join and just talk in the chat rooms or my favorite part, their friend makes the same concept that everyone is so tired about: but its OK since their friends made it, and support it vs the one that was there before it. this constantly happens like legit... back to back. someone made this bomb as super hero rp idk who or remember the name and instead of supporting it, everyone kind of just forgot about it and joined the newest one or made their own. the concept was nice and refreshing as well. its like everyone feels the need to one up the other person that is less known?
- then everyone starts complaining about the lack of nonaus... we need more creative nonaus! we need more nonaus to wind down because life is too hard, school is too much etc etc (these are the constant excuses and things i see in every blog) not the same basic nonaus, etc etc etc...
so then that cycle starts again... we get nonaus, CREATIVE NONAUS/SEMIAUS, people grow tired and sick of them like they did the aus. complain there is too many nonaus.
- so then we are back to people wanting more AUS + UNIQUE AUS.

point is, there is nothing wrong with wanting aus at all. it just seems like everyone complains if we have them? if we don't have them, they're not creative enough? and then now we'll get more aus and they'll die out because everyone hyping it up will either not join or have muse for something else.

so its not the rps itself, it is the people. people get busy just like how you said you do not have time to make them back to back, i am sure it is the same with others who are wanting more or just as creative! or maybe they're just burnt out? i know i have so many ideas but quite frankly i am burnt out, i do not have time, and people complain no matter what you do or make and it grows old. that is why i got tired of making stuff. everyone just complains so much. i would rather there be a drought like this so people can make rps at their pace vs just make it because people are saying we need it for that moment you know?? sorry for the long essay i have just been hearing this for awhile and finally decided to speak ded

i'mma just comment this openly, but i'll say again that it's not complexity that i'm calling for. you can be HELLA complex with the aus i listed in the blog and you can be simple with things like a space au or adventure au without making people read/create a thesis just to get in. i said space and adventure because those where two things i've been thinking about, but i ALSO said motel for troubled individuals. that doesn't require a lot of work or reading, and //that's not my point here//.

my point is we need variety and diversity of concepts and themes. there have been unique aus, i even named one (spirals), and that one didn't even flop. but that doesn't change the fact that we're still cycling through the same . that doesn't change the fact that people STILL out here resorting to the same tried and tested aus, if you will. like, i'm literally not asking you to make THE MOST, i'm just asking y'all to do something that's different. something we HAVEN'T been seeing as much.

fashion aus, grocery store aus, CONVENIENCE store aus, mall aus, wgm and hello baby aus again, rehab aus, haunted house aus, zombie aus, countryside aus, hell even kitsune aus. like, the point is to think outside the box or just do something that isn't the same like 5 things we've been doing. none of that has to be complicated, and none of it has to be simple if you don't want it to be because i ain't mad at a complex rp either. it flops because "nobody gave a "? falling prey to one minor setback does not put you on a path to success, homie. just try that again or do what i do sometimes and combine that with other themes. that's something else people can do that i didn't mention, but i felt that should go without saying.

Those “space au” and “adventure au” you mentioned need at least two pages to explain the concept and basics of the rp before they apply. So that leads me back to my point - people are lazy to read through those so they go with the simple ones hence it’s a people problem. Bc they HAVE been unique aus. They just flopped bc nobody gave a . But the next school au that comes out, it gets featured in like two days bc it’s easy.

Eh. I still think you’re implying there should be more complex aus bc you literally weeded out all the basic ones, ones that don’t need an essay intro or storyline to explain the concept of the rp.

nobody wants to join a roleplay where you have to read the description to apply. the premise must be easy to digest and summarized within one line and the application has to be easy to follow, as in:
- name
- age
- bio
- timezone
- password
and if it isn't easy to predict the application, then they'll never get to it because they have to switch tabs to look at the application form, since we can't copy and paste it onto the application itself.

believe me when i say i wanted to create more than the city au that i keep shoving up everyone's . but honestly, city aus are what you make of it. they're only boring because nobody takes the creative freedom to do what they really want to do. literally nobody said that you had to be normal in a city au, everybody just assumes they have to be normal.

i think people only make those type of rps because those are the only type that people join.
i feel like when you do open something different, people dont join and then the admins lose motivation. why work so hard for something no one really cares about?
