the personality....it's bitter and uncalled for

note: these stories are not mine, i give the people who submitted these stories or opinions a voice they want to project themselves in.

i have a huge dislike for basic y characters who are just mean

in every rp there's always going to be that one over the top mean character who's just always sarcastic, more judgemental than they seem in the chatroom, and overall saying unnecessary slightly degrading things to other characters

i know we're not supposed to take things personally ooc when we're ic but it's hard not to when someone is just being straight up mean 

i'm assuming here, but i think more than half the people on here have no problem with characters like this and just think others are being sensitive

but i don't think of it like that

being mean to someone else's character unless it's plotted is not a personality trait nor is it funny or cool

too many times people have gone on to protect characters like these because they're either friends with them or have played characters like these and no one has ever told their characters to lighten the up and stop being a brooding

i'm all for a y character who has the decency not to be mean to the other people in the rp

and these are the same characters who are half of the time complaining why no one will date them 

, i wouldn't, and i don't understand people who get the appeal of characters like these 

people have told me countless times if you don't like their character "ignore them" and i do just that

i'm not going to go out of my way to be friends with a character like that

i honestly find characters built this way have practically no depth personality and background wise other than the "front" they put up

this is not me telling anyone to change but just be nice to the people in the rp you're in before you have problems on your hands

note: good for you for following that piece of advice, because i've been in multiple rps where people either flock or runaway from characters like these. i definitely think it's how you pull off the character as well without being mean to others in the rp which is way better.
