i'm not a fan of grammar
+ i commented on blackpink and a lot of anonymous accounts told me i lost my credibility, but that just shows how many people think they can read everything just based on the titles
i would think many of you can read but that's not the case.
note: these stories are not mine, i give the people who submitted these stories or opinions a voice they want to project themselves in.
ever since red velvet debuted i was the biggest reveluv i had been until they came back with the song "power up"
it was cute and it showed a bit more of their red side
like everyone else, i absolutely love their b-sides but i think their title tracks should matter too
a title track is used to promote the overall album, and when your title track sounds like a miss...i don't think anyone would really check out the entire album or buy it for that matter
then came "rbb", "zimzalabim", and "umpah umpah"
i was totally put off by their music then and even took disinterest in their b-sides which rarely happens because they're just that good
everyone praises the lord after 3 or 5 times of listening to the songs, they love it and it's a certified bop to them
but if you have to listen to a song more than 3 times to like it...there's really nothing much you can do for that song
and that's how i feel for their recent title tracks
i've seen other reveluvs compare "zimzalabim" to f(x)'s "red light" and as a MeU as well, that's just wrong
"red light" was different but it actually sounds more put together and good.
i know "umpah umpah" had a waterpark theme but it wasn't the song they should have come back with after "zimzalabim"
it was cute as well and i'm a die hard fan of cute and whimsical concepts but it was too light of a song to come back with
it was forgettable unlike their other songs and it did not reel me back in to be their biggest fan again
a lot of people who became reveluvs after "badboy" expected more from red velvet because hey were shown more of the velvet side
red velvet has two sides people, you should know to expect a different sound each time around
then you have fans who will urge girl groups to do girl crush concepts like it's the only concept that matters
like clc, who's fandom makes up of mostly international girl crush crazy fans, they were left in the dust when clc came back with "where are you?"
those so called "fans" left then came back uninvited for their next comeback
i truly don't want red velvet to end up like that but they most likely won't
but everyone should understand their group concept and whoever is producing their songs should understand
even if red velvet has a wacky, cute, energetic, sometimes hard banging red side, they don't need crazy bad songs to go with it
you can have this great concept and make great music that sounds different
