Demons first made themselves known five years ago, just five years after the rapture. They came suddenly, with no warning before they came to our world through places filled with strong emotions, from nightclubs and brothels to hospitals and churches. Nobody had been prepared.

Despite what everyone thinks, demons aren't inherently evil. Demons are very similar to humans, with some being compassionate and others being cruel. Demons as a whole do see themselves as superior to humans, often viewing humans the way humans would view animals.
Appearance:
Demons usually have three forms. The first form is their 'human' form, almost indistinguishable from humans other than the occasional sign. These signs vary from oddly coloured eyes, to sharper teeth than normal, to slight stubs where their horns would normally be.
Their second form is what most would expect of a demon. Large imposing beings with unnaturally coloured skin, large leathery wings, and horns adorning their heads. These forms are usually 7' (213cm) tall at the very shortest.
Finally is their animal form. Each demon will have one animal that they take the shape of, though they will always be completely black with brightly coloured eyes, or completely white with black eyes. The most common animals are snakes, jackals, and wolves but any animal (that isn’t a bird) is possible.

In all form they are able to speak with the animal that they can take the form of, and in their demon form they are fully capable of flight thanks to their wings. Whilst flying they are limited to what they can carry with them, with most only able to lift an average sized human before they start to encounter difficulties.

Angels
Angels only started coming to earth three months ago, having been instructed by their god to stop the corruption of earth by destroying those that are allowing it to be corrupted. Most angels are indifferent towards human life and do not care to spare them, knowing that they could very well help to spread the corruption further.

These angels aren’t completely brainless followers of god. They care to do a good job and to impress him, however they can form attachments to others and choose to spare someone that they should kill. In doing this they are risking having their angelic title ripped away from them, leaving them to become a demon instead...
