last time you heard about the beginnings of the all powerful jumong, the founder of guri. but he wouldn’t have been able to do everything he did if it weren’t for his second wife soseono. she was a wealthy and powerful woman of her time who backed jumong on his desires to create his own kingdom. now as the queen of guri, everything seemed perfect until a boy claiming to be jumong’s first son entered their palace. it had turned out that when jumong was kicked out of the kingdom of buyeo, he had left behind a pregnant wife. soseono quickly realized that this meant her children wouldn’t inherit the throne and decided to leave the kingdom. taking her two boys and the hundreds of civilians that were loyal to her, she would go on to help her sons establish their own kingdom which we now know today as sipje.
