I was watching an episode of Mamma Mia (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zwtz_0KT1XI&list=SPMf7VY8La5REX-Ni42v4zQ_bs6syk6aTv), which is a show for celebrities to go on and spend time with their moms and stuff. Well in this episode there was a part where they were talking about things they didn't like their moms wearing. One of the daughters said she didn't want her mom to wear sleeveless shirts because she had chubbier arms.
It's a main channel, not cable. You're pretty much saying your mom is fat in front of the entire nation. This just pisses me off because I still don't get why Koreans put so much emphasis on looks. She's your mom, she carried you for 10 months, gave birth to you and took care of you even when you puked all over her. Calling her fat on a national TV show just seems like a great way to pay her back huh? *sarcasm*
And what's even worse is that all the MCs and other guests were like "Oh yeah, I understand why you wouldn't like that." My mom is on the bigger side, but I think she looks gorgeous in anything she wears, even if it's just a pair of jeans and a T-Shirt. Who cares if they're a little bigger?
Sometimes, Koreans and their unrealistic standard of beauty just makes me upset
