Advice for potential allergic reaction?

I've posted in a couple roleplays but figured blogs are likely a better place

I woke up and my throat is tight and it's harder to breathe than it should be
I'm not asthmatic so I think I'm having an allergic reaction to the essential oil in my humidifier and I have no clue what to do
Anybody got any advice with minor allergies? Should I wash my humidifier and run it with no oils in it to clear out the air or turn my ac on? Any home remedies to get rid of the tightness and swelling?

Will honey help?

I'm allergic to literally everything, and I always have been. I can likely help.

Honey won't help WHILE you're having a reaction. What is the oil?

Definitely remove whatever you think the source of the allergy is. If it's the essential oil, wash out the humidifier, run it without it. If it's just throat tightness, try to just drink cool water. If it's a dry, scratchy throat, warm tea may help. You can add honey since it shouldn't hurt anything.

Ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and turmeric are all natural anti-inflammatory foods so if you have any you can try adding those to tea or milk? Except avoid cinnamon powder. It's better to have cinnamon tea and avoid scratching your throat with dry cinnamon.

Lastly, if any of it is sinus swelling or irritation, blow your nose gently (too hard and it can easily cause a mild nose bleed, which just makes things worse), and take a warm shower. You may need to blow your nose again after the shower, just be gentle.

Take a Benadryl! You can even take two for a total of 50 mg. If you think the oil is the source, definitely don't expose yourself to it again.
