So I was talking this out with others and they're probably annoyed with me trying to figure it out lol-- and now it's something I got to ask the general public.
I seen a blog post a while back asking about banned face claims and it mentioned the lot that are banned. Their question however was, what is the line on problematic idols?
My question is what is the problem with married characters? (Not jabbing towards everyone, genuinely want to know.)
Here are my thought on it and why it's got me questioning. In a nonau, I can see why they are banned, because it supposedly is our real life universe, but they are married so if someone's name who is married and dated someone else who is not their partner they technically would have that said idol cheating. (Not really of course, but that's what I imagine people having an issue with it.) or, if it's a respect thing... let's further on that.
These idols all have lives we don't know about, they all literally could be dating someone that we don't know about. So if it's a respect thing for them/their partner we really shouldn't be playing any of them, because we really do not know if they have a partner in their life regardless if they are married or just dating. If it's a respect thing, why not idols that are dating either? Is it because they have a chance of breaking up? Well Married idols can get divorced. Look at the former UKiss member Dongho. He got married and had a kid and him and his wife decided it was best if they separate. and then you have the idols who have been dating for a while like Hyuna and Dawn.
Now if it is a respect thing I don't see the problem in au/ semi aus( depending). Because, as I see it for example my main muse is Kim Heechul at the moment. If it is an au, my Kim Heechul is not the same Kim Heechul from Super Junior. That's why I get to choose his background and everything. So if Heechul was married in real life, it is not the same Kim Heechul. Heechul from super junior is a famous Kpop idol while my heechul is a captain of a ghost ship. It's like acting. Many actors are married but they still act in shows/TVs where they are either single or with someone else. Playing in au rps, to me is no different than acting.
if people have the argument of the different names, not every actor has a different name for their characters. For example, a show called "That's so Raven"/"Raven's Home"
the actor is named raven simone, she in real life has a partner, is a lesbian and isn't poor, right?
her character named raven baxter(yeah the last names are different but they got the same first name) - is straight, has kids and has psychic abilities.
that's because that is an alternate universe from our own.
I guess the collective is just easier to say no married idols, but if you read this far.. and have any more insight on this please let me know. I'm just a curious being
