SEASON RECAP
BEFORE THE WAR, the island could almost have been called peaceful. It truly was a city of dreams, where all could coexist regardless of their species, their mortality. Oh, perhaps it was not the safest place for humans from time to time, but it was a small price to pay for the peace that the magical had found.
In March of 2051, it felt as though the island was marching closer to a new era of peace, where even the humans were safer among the city streets with the bolstered presence of the Dream Guard.
That was all to be ruined.
APRIL 15, 2051. Hunter organization MORTEM pours into the city in droves, Squad 719 striking the city in the north, south, east and west under the command of Ailell Brier. The DREAM GUARD and VOS launch counterattacks under the lead of Eden and Akaedi Vos, respectively.
During the battle in the north quarter of the city, a phoenix battles Mortem's soldiers. His flames rapidly spread through the north quarter, costing the lives of hunters and citizens alike.
In the chaos, a young woman unleashes an earthquake that causes a tsunami. The water-wielders of Vos and the Dream Guard are forced to push back the water, but not before more lives are claimed by the disaster.
The north quarter is the most damaged area of the city, the epicenter of the disasters of fire, earth and water.
MAY 25, 2051. The captain of the Dream Guard, EDEN, disappears after a series of cryptic messages. Over the following days, while battling a hunter throughout the underground of the city, Eden leaves scrambled voice messages for the Dream Guard to decipher.
MAY 31, 2051. The city's Mayor, ZIMINIAR, hosts his annual summer ball while the city is still recovering from the aftermath of the previous month's devestation.
During the festivities, the Dream Guard make contact with Eden and discover a plot to flood the city.
Mortem soldier Mu Lian is betrayed by Beau Reivana and revealed to have powers, setting into action an awful series of events.
JUNE 1, 2051. Mu Lian is executed for having powers under the order of Mortem's head, Colette Reivana. Colette later informs Ailell Brier that Lian was murdered by a Dream Guard soldier.
JUNE 2, 2051. Dream Guard soldier Lee Youngmi is attacked by Ailell Brier in revenge for the death of Mu Lian. Fighting in the ruins of the north quarter, Youngmi sacrifices his life in order to save Ailell's.
JUNE 14, 2051. An ancient enemy almost kills Eden, aided at the last minute by the Dream Guard. Eden's enemy escapes and goes on to plot further violence against the city and his old nemesis.
AUGUST 1, 2051. After the rebuilding of the city postpones the mayor's annual summer festivities, he hosts the summer games on the first day of August, inviting the city to come together for a much-needed respite from the grief and the despair that came with the misfortunes of the spring that year.
AUGUST 4, 2051. Mortem's soldiers flood through the city once again, met by the soldiers of the Dream Guard, Vos, Wanggeom and Chau to turn them back. In the ensuing bloodbath, no one notices one of the Dream Guard's second in commands heading on a warpath for the Mortem headquarters... as directed by Amine Reivana.
Mortem's headquarters are destroyed. Most of Mortem Squad 719 are slaughtered in the battle. Mortem scatters, soon to disappear back into the shadows they had emerged from.
Silence falls in the city as she mourns her fallen.
OCTOBER 31, 2051. Ziminiar hosts his Halloween ball and everything fades to black.
this was a recap of the important events of the first season of CITY OF DREAMS.
