As always I write far too much omegaverse (and royal aus don't @ me, anyone who has written with me before) and I had an idea pop into my head while i was driving home last night because I love to play with tropes etc etc bla bla bla and I recently bought an enemies to lovers book that I've been reading and I'm not saying it influenced this but it definitely influenced this
anyway I've been thinking, as one does, in royal aus and aboverse and in the end the following mess has sprung to mind:
character A is an alpha king/prince/some level of royalty or nobility that has newly ascended to his position. in order to garner favor with him, one of A's men (an advisor, a general, even a sibling etc) brings him character B — a general/commander/etc from an enemy country that was captured and exposed as an omega. disoriented and ill from potions meant to subdue him, B tries (unsuccessfully) to kill A.
A is appalled by the attempt to win his favor, but cannot reject the offer without seeming weak or soft. in order to keep B alive, he takes on the omega as his prisoner and responsibility. however, B is far from cooperative and makes it difficult for A to protect him from enemies in the court. when his control over B is called into question, A must make a choice.
if interested lmk, i would be writing as character B ideally because that's my perogative /// there's more to discuss and i'd like to discuss it in dms because i'm having a hard time getting my thoughts to track right now
things i do not want in this plot: non-con. threats will be present, but they will be exactly that; threats. ///
things i do want in this plot: the inherent angst of trying to tame a feral gremlin that would sooner bite your hand off than let you touch him and falling in love with him vs the inherent angst of being a feral gremlin quite literally biting the hand that feeds you while trying to resist attraction to the owner of said hand ///
