Question for admins:

As much as I would like to think we are an inclusive site. We all know there's users that can cause trouble, rude users, or just users that don't follow rules in any of the rps they join.

as an admin, how do you deal with this behavior or said users?

I must admit my biggest pet peeve is people having ooc conversations in ic rooms/chats.

And since I'm working on an semi-au. I wouldn't want to have to deal with these users. Or this behavior. Since I know some are recurrent with it.

If I know someone is an issue elsewhere, I will usually still give them a chance unless it's a super serious offense that I personally know about from elsewhere. In that case, that person would already usually be on my blocked list.

However, if they're known to be an issue - especially with blending IC and OOC, I will sometimes give one warning and then kick. In an instance recently, I knew the person wouldn't learn because they were warned elsewhere multiple times and didnt change, so I kicked them right away and wrote why on both their reservation comment and their wall.

I've been an admin for a long time and don't have much patience for people who cause OOC drama disguised as IC.

warning #1, in chat:
[ quick reminder: please review the rules, we've noticed unwanted behavior in the chat and would like to make sure nobody here feels uncomfortable. ]

warning #2, in chat:
@NAME please review the rules, we've noticed unwanted behavior in the chat and would like to make sure nobody here feels uncomfortable.

final warning, in pm:
hello, we've issued multiple warnings to prevent unwanted behavior in our roleplay and noticed that you are still not complying. please make sure to review the rules and cease any unwanted behavior, such as [list them here] or we will remove and blacklist you from our roleplay without warning. thank you.

the trick is to make sure these warnings are issued fairly toward everyone, including yourself as an admin, because the last thing you would want to do is give these people ammo against you that would make you lose credibility as a fair and just admin.

but also know that as an admin, you have the freedom to gatekeep whoever you want out of your roleplay. it's your space, nobody said you have to be inclusive. you'll have to understand that this may come with some criticism, but that criticism is worth not having to deal with these users. the peace of mind is worth it.

ughh thats such a pet-peeve of mine as a member of roleplays that deters me from the rooms when i see it. I think a strike system could help possibly! Also i love semi-aus (and seens like yours is on the right path already) so i will be on the look out for your rp when you release it! ^-^

All I can think is to really stick to the rules, or a strike system? But idk, I haven’t seen that implemented much — and I’m worried people might not want to join because of it???? But idk—
