Walking down the street,
Just another day to me,
Clear sky, cool breeze, warm day,
That's when I see it,
A penny on the ground,
Not all that new,
I pick it up and dust it off,
It's heads up,
The penny isn't shiny,
The penny has a story,
It has its own light,
Its own brilliance,
It's not perfect,
But it's beautiful,
It has endurance,
It has history,
I don't know its story,
But know where it is,
I'll keep it safe,
Keep it close, save it,

It makes me happy,
I feel safe,

I feel warmth,
I feel cherished,

Its important to me,

Its brought me happiness,
