THE SHADE OF LIGHT

As I enter to a room
A big cold dark room,
I looked around
Searching for a way out.
But to my dismay,
I only see nothing.
Nothing but black
Like i was a helpless blind seeing nothing.
I was afraid.
As if I was a cat being chased by a dog,
A prey ready to be eaten by the predator
Or a fish almost caught.
I walked and walked.
Here, there. Everywhere.
Never did I stopped looking
Until I saw a light.
A shade of light to be exact.
It was small yet so tempting
As if it was telling me to go closer to it,
To give attention.
I walked closer.
Then suddenly I heard something
Like people talking about things.
Hurtful things.
I stopped in my tracks
And listened to it.
I hung my head low, tears forming in my eyes.
They were talking about me..
Slap.
I raised my head and looked at them.
A tear slid down from my eye.
It was my best friend and a stranger.
But I only looked ahead.
Not looking back and walked again.
As I pass through the cold dark room,
I still hear things,
Things that really haunted not just me
But to others as well.
As I walk and heard those things,
I asked myself.
How cruel life can get?
Isn't it enough hearing awful things about you?
Then I realized.
It was only a part of life.
You can't experience happiness
If you didn't even know how cruel life is.
The shade of light was impeccable.
It was stunning.
It was shimmering so bright that I needed to close my eyes.
I'm almost there.
I'm ready to get out.
One step closer and I'll be out from here.
From this, horrible place.
I opened my eyes.
I scanned the place and there was light.
It was my room!
And I was in bed.
It was just a dream.
A nightmare.
A beautiful nightmare I can't ever forget.
