The grey got no better as he stepped outside the condiminium building. The only difference now was that he could see the neon lit signs of shops and street lights faintly through the fog. The city indeed was ghostly, resembling a graveyard, and the people could easily be imagined as spirits and specters, appearing and vanishing amongst the mist as they continued their daily lives. And soon Kris joined them, stepping onto the main streets, keeping on the right side of the sidewalk so human traffic could walk both ways.

He waited on the sidewalk for the lgiht to change, for crossing to permitted safely.

Rain drops still fell, but only a few hit him every once in a while. They were cold, like ice. Cold like him.

There was a strange emptiness every where. He was alive, or so he thought..was his heart beating? Was his mind working?

Why did it feel like if he got hit by a car, he would not actually get hit?

What was she thinking...when she made the choice to jump...what ran in her head?

Ofcourse he had no regrets or remorse..no, his apathetic nature still continued on from the weeks before.

It wasnt his fault.

Her death was not his fault.

And that was true...wasn't it?

It'd been two weeks since the break up.

Surely had he been the cause she would've done so sooner.

What kept her? Hope? Fear?

He wouldn't know..he didn't know how her thoughts ran after their split. She'd changed and so had he.

Times had changed. Things had changed. Everything had changed.

So? he crossed the parking lot, caution tape still preventing people from accessing the marked out square.

Humans...such fragile little creatures...so easily broken..

Pitiful perhaps, but he wanted no pity. And so he walked on.

He had places to be.
