I love insidious but you have to watch Insidious 2 as well, because both of them is attached.
Chucky is good too.
The Conjuring too.
Paranormal activity is good for an idea of Horror fanfic.
One Missed call is good too.
The Grudge is Juon in American version. It's cool, just like JuOn. JuOn is good, but the main story isn't good. I mean the killing way and the scary ghost is good.
Ah, Sixth Sense is good for an idea for a fanfic. There's a young boy who can see ghost but everybody says him crazy.
It's good since I can feel what he feels.
The Eye is good too, it tells about a girl who can see ghost and a past story of a abandoned place.
That's all. I think they're good horror movie.
I don't like Children of the genesis corn, there's no message in that movie.
And I don't like Mama too, it doesn't have a message as well.

I don't really watch horror but would these help? They contain horror, gore and lots of scary stuff;

Okay, so one of the best horror movies I ever saw was 'You're Next'.
It's pretty realistic what makes it an awesome movie, it also has some black humor in it but less demon/ghost things, I'd suggest to watch 'the Ring' even though that also doesn't really have demons.
There's a Spanish movie called 'Mama', it's alright, not the best one but that defibitely has some kind of creature thingy in it and can be scary, don't watch it alone.

idk, mama is good but it has not much horror, it's somehow about spirits but it's very soft :3

The Grudge or The Ring...I remember when those first came out....terrifying...T.T ( still my fave horror movies)

Children of the corn, the 6th sense [although I was younger when I tried to watch it and I didn't get sat the first like 10 minutes...], saw, the seed of chicly (that doll is ing creepy), mirrors (is a GREAT one if you don't mind being afraid to sleep to go into your bathroom for a week[dead serious, don't judge, it's freaking scary!])
