When you want a music player, I suggest using soundcloud.
If you have a song, go to 'Share' and then to embed. There you can copy the code and then place it in your layout, where you can tweak it, changing the width etc.
If you want to have a video, it's the same with Youtube. I'm not sure since I don't use that a lot in my layouts.
