  • Christianity in Reformation:

Edict of Milan: To freely practice any religion.

Constantine had a vision of God telling him to draw a symbol (P with a cross; Chi Rho) on a shield and banners and that he would win the war that way. He did that and won.
He became Christian on his death bed in 313.
Prior to 313, Christians were persecuted.

    The Great Schism

Separated the Eastern and Western Churches in 1054.
    The East - Constantinople
    The West - Rome
    The Church split because:
They couldn’t come to the agreement of the words in the Nicene Creed
    Distance between Rome and Turkey
    The Eastern Church spoke Greek
    The Western Church spoke Latin
    The Eastern Church was formalized
    The Western Church was simple

Eastern Church has their own Creed

Jesus’ Birth is celebrated in 7th January and 25th December because they follow a different calendar.

    The Nicene Creed -
    Nicea - place of Beliefs.
