Writer's Tip
It's been a long time, since I gave one of these, but since I've been writing non stop and just recently got on. I thought of doing one of these for those people who wish to improve your writing or learn.
If you ask me personally, the most important is the title of your book and the very first sentence of that book. It nags the hell of me to see books like this:
My Awesome Boyfriend Luhan
With Kim Jongin
Falling In Love With My Boss
I mean you just told us how simple your plot is in your book, even if it's not. It's what will alot of people will think.
You have to deliver the feeling of that entire book in the title and the first sentence. It has to stand out and hook the fish immediately. Be unique with the title of your book, but make sure it matches what your writing about. Think of some words and then put in thesaurus seeing what words are synonyms of it. It helps a lot especially if you are a...simplistic ideal person...I suppose. (I do it all the time XD)
Now for the first sentence, adjectives and figurative play a great part. Think of it in your mind. Is it something you will see in the beginning of a movie or is it something internal going on with the person. For example:
Enticing pain traveled through my body in a matter of seconds and like glass shattering, I was brought out of a dream that made my forehead hot with boiling sweat. Ever since he had done this to me, I was never the same.
This type of first sentence peeks the curiosity of the person reading. They'll be thinking. "I must read this...so I can know what was never the same.
To me another big key in your overall story, is to make it unpredictable as much as possible. It's almost like playing tricks on your readers.
A large amount of people no longer like vampire romance stories. Do you know why? Because it's predictable. A human and vampire fall in love. Bam, next thing you know she's a vampire fighting evil vampires or human girl falling in love with wolf boy
BOOOOOOOOOOORING
This screams boring.
Don't do things that become a big movie, because everyone has seen it. The only reason 50 shades turned out well, because of the . Let's admit it ,now shall we?
(Ughhhh, can't wait till Feb 14, ha, if only you knew how many times I said this in the mirror to myself)
Well, that's all I have for today. Next time I will get in how to build your characters in your story and drama within it.
Till....next time :D
