Tired of the Monotony of Claimed Characters

I feel like there is no variety in the characters on roleplays here nowadays.

Going from one roleplay to another, it seems like it's always the same people who are taken everywhere.

Mostly the younger, newer, popular groups like EXO, BTS, and such.

All the other groups are getting neglected and, from experience, if you play as someone from a group that has been established longer then you tend to get ignored. (Except for SM groups. They are a special breed -___- )

AU roleplays are a bit easier to interact with people on since there is a lot of freedom with original character creation.

But on non-AUs if you play someone from 2PM, Big Bang, and any of the other groups which are not the new, young, hot things in the spotlight (even Infinite nowadays) then you are practically dooming yourself to being without your group members since people never join as any of them.

Playing as one of the sunbaes, you are lucky if the hoobae roleplayers even know anything about you beyond the fact that they know you are one of their superiors and they should respect you.

I've had characters come up to me and act like our characters have never met, but in real life they actually have interacted a lot!

I don't know... Maybe it's just me feeling this way because I've been a fan of K-Pop for a long time and in the RP scene for even longer than that.

So I miss the times when roleplays were well-balanced and not dominated by just a small few groups.

Don't mind me but it can be a little annoying after a while.

I don't mind usually not being talked to right away in a roleplay, but when I'm being flat out ignored no matter how many posts I make: That's not cool period. Happened in a couple roleplays I joined some months ago. Although I don't post as much like I used to granted, it bugs me if no one acknowledges the fact you're in the rp as well.

And don't get me started when just because someone's in a relationship they ignore everyone else. I don't see that happening in the rps I'm in, but when I do see it does bug me a bit...or if you're a character/real person they don't like and ignore you that way I feel you're annoyance with that *sighs*

i know what you mean, man
sometimes i really want to play some of the older artists, models and actors, or just artists people have never heeard of, but i feel like i have to cater to the community and choose someone at least moderately popular or a fresh face
not always do i want to put in extra work just to get people to rp with me, y'know?
sometimes it's honestly nice to not get the attention, but when you don't get any attention at all (no matter what), then it just gets burdensome

i feel you even though i come from the other end of the spectrum wherein i roleplay as members from a moderately successful rookie group – they're not that popular but they're not completely unknown. i eventually had to stop roleplaying as them because no one was replying to me or they were straight out ignoring me. the thing that irritated me though was the fact that i had members of other lesser known groups ignore me who had their wall full of posts by characters from popular groups. u gh.

This happens so much to me, oh my god.
If I request for people to pmrp, they get mad if I don't want to do an exo pairing and on Facebook, if anyone flirts with an exo/bts member, they'll be cold to you because they want to wait for whatever character they want to ship with.

Super Junior and DBSK and Infinite always get my love~ ^^
But since I ship them with each other a lot...
I tend to try not to flirt too much.
Which happens to be like 75% of my interactions, is flirting...

My. Sweet. God. I ing agree so hard with this post.

I always love rping as lesser-known idols--- ALWAYS. But they've been so ignored and disregarded instead of beheld as something rare and exotic. You're so right, though. Non-AU's are incredibly biased. The face-chase there is--- , it's unreal. And damn it all if you end applying as a sOLOIST. Everyone's rushing to complete their groups and gather their sister/brother groups there too...

And you're right, anyone before EXO is immediately disregarded. There's a newness to hoobaes and trainees and newbs that everyone flocks to. I can't ever play the older generation--- my Yunho's are shoved aside... as are my Bi-Rain's... my Se7en's. It's weird.

And omfg, what bingu said below--- rp's are TERRIBLE about face-chasing... Everyone will apply as some "cute" (I use the term loosely), popular newbie and expect the ab-toting members to join and them into the ground. u n u;;;; #likewhet

Honestly, I wish I could just make a roleplay haven for all the neglected facelciams/idols.
Like Unpopular Idol Refuge! And just not allow any of the over-played idols.

This is one of the biggest reasons why I hate non AU roleplays. All the admins are based as . Sorry that this is basically like a blanket statement but challenge me if there's a group of open minded admins out there.

"HELLO WELCOME TO THE ROLEPLAY. I'M GONNA BE NICE TO YOU BUT NOT TALK TO YOU BECAUSE YOU'RE NOT MY BIAS GROUP SO I DON'T CARE BUT I'LL STILL BE A FRIENDLY ADMIN."

This also happens in AU roleplays too and in roleplays people are selective af too.

Ripped the words right out of my mouth
