we used to walk together with only comfortable silence that accompany us. you'd hold my hand tightly. you'd tell me how beautiful i was. your eyes would sparkle and your bright smile would light up the night. you'd pull me in a warm hug to get rid of the coldness that surrounds us, then you'd whisper your sweet nothings to me. you'd tell me, you'd want to spend the rest of your life with me.
now, only the awkwardness blinds us. you'd still hold my hand but not so tight. you'd stay silent, i'd stay silent. you no longer smiled, your eyes no longer sparkled. i told you i was cold, you pulled me in your arms but why did it get colder? you'd whisper your promises but it remained empty and shallow. your sweet nothings became mere nothingness, and it's cold. so cold.
