Sorry if I'm late, but I just found out about this lol.
So, apparently, Jaden Smith said he wanted to become a Kpop idol.
And, everyone is talking about him for saying that, which I don't understand.
He's showing appreciation for Kpop, which is nice, imo, and haven't we all, at some point, wanted to become a Kpop idol, or even considered auditioning for a company?
People are saying that he's talentless, and that his father's money can't buy him that. But... Isn't there a bunch of kpop idols who aren't that talented (I've seen a bunch of shade being thrown at Twice lately), and a bunch of people who got there thanks to their parents' money (I can't name any, but there has to be some, right? Oh, that girl in IOI, I think, who is 17 and started her own agency and café with her dad's money, I believe). So, in that aspect, he has a chance, right?
As for his talent, I don't really follow his stuff, but at least he has some experience (acting, music, modelling...) so he's not a complete newbie. Therefore, he probs wouldn't have to train for an eternity.
People keep saying that he won't be able to adapt to the lifestyle of a kpop idol/doesn't know what he's getting himself into. Honestly that's his problem if it's the case. But, still, idols (or whatever you wanna call him) in America do have to go through diets/working out/and even plastic surgery to maintain their physique. And, if he's a fan, he would know about this, wouldn't he? Why do people assume he's ignorant?
Lastly, I don't think it's that different from other non-Korean Asian people becoming trainees. They still have to learn the language, the culture, and all. Like, are you scared of having a black oppar something???
Please share your opinion on the whole thing with me, as I didn't understand why he got so much hate from the kpop fandom.
