so i guess i wont be on from next year because this GOT THE RA POSITION!!!! i applied, got put through a grueling number of tasks and a looooong wait to hear back and your girl MADE IT.
I'm so excited - discounted tuition, a job, my boyfriend is an RA too and we work under the same hall director (but two different buildings) so thats gonna be a lot of fun. I love my hall director because he's got a big heart and is such a people person oh my god.
Additionally, i havent been on or active much this semester because i've been pulled deeper into club activities. I dropped two of the clubs i was in but this semester for hall council, i'm spearheading event planning for a huge event we want to do in late april. bouncy houses, dunk tanks, slip and slides, we want a big outdoor event.
I'm also a part of Muslim Cultural Society as a secretary, mainly to help friends out and learn a thing or a few because i never see that side of my friends. (I'm Hindu so I dont know much about the culture but i have a decent understanding of Islam.) and I got pulled into another project with a friend to start an International Film Fest with all the cultural clubs on campus. Im representing MCS and organizing the movie that we're screening and I was really excited to work with this friend: I offered to make event posters for him. We worked together and got three posters together - they look SO good that the marketing/promo/out reach office on campus reached out to us asking who made the posters bc they were BOMB af!!!
Life is good, but it took a long and winding path to get here. Part of it, believe or not, I owe to RPR. The toughest test of conflict resolution and communication, i would say, is RPR.
