so through my like
counts on my fingers jkjk idk how long i've been writing, but it's been a while- note: writing, not rping. to me there's a vast difference. okno but yeah
i've been thinking- and this was brought to my eyes again when the beautiful nicky aka babydory made that blogpost just now lol gOSHDARN YOU
one's view on their writing ability is subjective, it's not a fixed point. if you yourself feel as though your writing could use improvement, then go on and practice more.
i practice all the time- i write a lot of random blurbs, multiple ones during the span of a day. anytime something pops up into my brain, i write it down.
with pen and paper. i find writing on stationary (for me at least, these are tricks i myself use and see helpful, writing on paper with pen has my thoughts flowing easier)
also, if you've never practiced doing *automatic writing, you should try. here are a few things that may help
- *automatic writing is when you clear your head of any thoughts, it's like a dream state of writing. it barely ever makes sense. i once wrote one in my creative writing class about geese driving cars with the chairs made of a "goobly globby slimy slime". it's just a good tactic of just an opportunity to write.
- write something as if you were a child. simplify but make it detailed still
- simply write oneshots or blurbs, scenarios. prompts.
- make a **26 (gDI) line story. one line per letter of the alphabet. each sentence starts with a letter. e.g line 1: a little bug went on a long journey. line 2: Before he could reach his destination of Narnia, he ran into a.... line 3: Crazy cool cat!
- write poetry- i'm like the only one in my writer's craft class who doesn't hate writing poetry. but you can try free verse. oOH OR LIKE A SPOKEN WORD PIECE
there's probably more, but i'm being forced with yelling to do dishes and i feel attacked oml ok
everyone can improve, practice makes- not perfect but really really good writing! bc perfect doesn't exist okno
but yeAH i love you guyys ;;;;; w ;;;;;; these are just things i've learned over the past few years and they've helped me really get comfortable with my writing and feel more encouraged to write more. writing is a great way of expressing yourself and putting your feelings into something. it's therapeutic.
alright bye i'm gONna go die now adios have a nice day/afternoon/morning/evening/high noon/night!! < 3
