Yeah, so I want to start that up again. Why? Simply because I feel it might be another great service that RPR could really use. Plus, I feel it might motivate admins to make better RPs (not that rps now ) and it might be interesting to see how things turn out with roleplays that do get reviewed.
I kinda feel that it won't work out in all honesty, this review thing, but because I'm hopeful, I want to try it anyway. Just think about all the cool things that could come from roleplay reviews.
For one, you wouldn't have to join an RP just to know if you really want to be there. Like, you could save time and energy by just seeing what reviewers thought of the roleplay and going "yeah, that sounds like somewhere I wanna be" or "nah, I'll pass on this one" or something like that. It would save you the trouble of awkwardly leaving RPs just because you feel like you don't fit there.
Another thing RP reviews might be good for is boosting an admin's motivation to actually run their RP(s). It might get them to actually care what happens with their roleplay(s), get them to try harder, and it might help them figure out where to improve their roleplay(s). It also offers insight on what participants actually think of their roleplay.
Lastly, I think RP reviews would be good for getting the word out there for certain RPs. Like, it might put a spotlight on RPs that are quieter but might be worth a chance. And, I mean, that's never a bad thing.
I don't know. I feel like maybe roleplayers might be afraid to really get their RPs reviewed because reviews will point out where they might fall short or something, but I feel like they will do so much more for roleplays than harm them. Every RP has its shortcomings, but RPs also have a lot of great things about them that get people to join and/or stay there, which is why I think it'd be cool to review them. Reviews would point out the things that get people to take part in a roleplay's experience. And that excites me a bit.
Anyway, though, I've made this long enough. I just want to say that I'll be doing this not to tear down and berate roleplays, but to actually help them out a little.
