PERSONALITY

It feels like a broken mask

laid back and has a long expanse of patience: he would let things go and would not make a big fuss out of what he deems are small things, but his patience is not one to be tested as once he gets angry, he is angry.
social butterfly: he has no problem in dealing with people and actually loves to interact.
playful, big tease: normally, he would use the playfulness as an attempt to make first meeting awkwardness to evaporate, but this is only to select people who he thinks wouldn't mind it.
actually a deep person: he may talk about a lot of random stuff, but ask him about philosophies and beliefs, he’ll grace you a river of his own and he strongly sticks to these philosophies.
humble, honest and careful: he will never brag about his advances nor his status to anyone unless given a reason to (may be angered, mocked for his being a master or irritated) and he is straightforward but also careful of what he says; also has difficulty in talking about his own worries.
mildly skinship-y: once he considers you close to him, he gets a little skinship-y as his way of showing fondness and approval.
a cheerful person in general: nuff said.
dominant: ually speaking, no one is in control but him, although he believes that to keep a relationship healthy, one must listen to the other as well. it’s also given for being an alpha.

SPECIAL PEOPLE

you’re a beautiful trap, your smile is dangerous

—————————————   Park Chanyeol's Backstory

◣ Paris, 1946

One could say that Park Chanjun had no difficulties in life. He was born in a wealthy family that migrated to France from back in Korea for about a decent decade now, having finished studying music and even proceeded to taking up fine arts. He was a lad with a lifestyle that any other rich male had... and he enjoyed it all. As a young man, he worked with plate photography too, as it was very popular back then; France being its birthplace.

Yet, as stereotypical as it may get, wealthy families rarely have a harmonious relationship. As an only son, one would think that he would have been pampered rotten - which was true to an extent - but his mother was the only one who ever cared about his interests and whatever it was that he wanted to do in his life. His father, on the other hand, was so distant from the family (or perhaps only to him) that even talking to him was extremely awkward and uneasy. Technically, he only ever felt his mother's presence beside him.

He eventually discovered that his parents weren't just some normal business people. They were actually hunters; of these creatures that the typical mankind would refer to as mere folk tale or urban legend: vampires. Chanjun found it atrocious but these were his parents who had revealed it themselves, so it couldn't have been just some mad joke, could it? Somewhere deep in his head, however, he believed that his parents might just be a little cracked up.

Regardless of this fact and the constant reminder from his parents to stay wary, he continued living his life as if he hadn't found out anything about these creatures at all. After all, there was only a thread-thin chance of coming to meet any in this big world.

◣ Paris, 1953

Things changed at the mark of his 26th birthday when a strange sensation started raging inside him. That one eventful day when he woke up feeling the intense throbbing in his veins with completely no memory of what had happened to him. His head hammered with an excruciating headache, his overly sharp senses that caused him severe shock that it wasn't long until he noticed the two punctured holes on his neck; holes that were already starting to heal and close. Struck with horror, Chanjun was in sheer denial of what he was thinking but the way his body was at such a condition told him all of the confirmation that he needed. The dawning of the truth that he was turned into a vampire — a vile, blood- ghoul.

His thirst for blood was grim. As a newly-turned vampire, he would wake up every morning with blood dripping down his jaw, hands stained with whose ever blood it was that he had managed to get in his grasp and he hated it. He hated washing the trails of his inhumanity every morning, having to go through the same torture whenever his frenzy came and only remembering fragments of whatever he did the night before. He hated everything. He never knew how he happened to not get caught by the authorities, but he trusted the fact that those he had fed on woke up remembering nothing at all - exactly like how it was for him. But how he was turned, was the big question in his mind. Surely, he hadn't gone around in a frenzy, turning innocent humans into the monster that he was, right?

People believed that a deadly disease was spreading, that these lives were being taken by some epidemia. Plague, as they called it, for a lot of similar events in other neighbouring places took place before. Taking the successive plagues which ravaged Europe between 1300 and 1700 as an example, had fostered the belief in vampires, mainly because the decomposition of corpses was not well understood. But what people would never even come to guess was aside from fully a human until he drains and dies, anyone could be turned into one as well.

How?, was the question in mind. He loathed not knowing.

He had managed to keep this from his parents for a certain span of time, but eventually Chanjun had to move away from them. They were not too akin to the fact that they had to execute him, so he was given the chance to be... tamed; to practice his control and endurance to thirst. Upon successfully calming his frenzy to a considerable level, they had indeed adviced him to move away and cut all ties. In all of their spite.

He loathed everything in his miserable life. He might as well just die, but he couldn't.

◣ Manhattan, 1970

The vampire had by now managed to calm himself down and had gained excellent self-control. Throughout the years of trying to get used to the new - and agonizing - lifestyle that he was to be stuck in forever, he found out that he needed to move from place to place whenever it already got too long before people start getting suspicious about that fact that he didn't age, die, nor suffer any serious illness.

He was literally an undead.

But for some reason, despite appearing disgusting and monstrous, he grew even more dashing; he found out from all the preceding years of the current time that his features enhanced, that he had excellent speed, high intelligence, a photographic memory, fast healing and enhanced senses that he all had grown accustomed to all these years. It came to realization that those of his kin appeared even more beautiful than humans will ever be, and they elicited a strange pull that certainly did catch attention.

◣ Florence, 1981

It was in Venice that he was fully enlightened with everything that has to do with vampires and their existence. Way back in the 16th century was the time that the belief in vampires had been established and that Venice was the place where they originated. The original ones might still be around, even. Different life cycles, extraordinary abilities, different significant events from the past had dawned to his knowing with his own diligent research. He met a lot of people, including a fair amount of his kind, and it was the place where he felt he belonged the most. However, the difference was, he was educated that their kind were fallen angels banished from Heaven, cursed to seek salvation through their immortality, and that he was a pure Blue Blood.

It was also in such a place that he learned that it was possible to feed from the same kind but these vampires were called Silver Bloods, the ones who didn't want to return to Heaven. Moreover, he had learned how to turn a human into his familiar, knowledge-wise, that with the use of their venom being fused into the human system would transform the body after approximately 12 hours. It was a knowledge that he refused to apply: he will never want to pull anyone into the monstrosity that he was part of. It also dawned to him that they were not immortal; there were ways to execute them just like what his parents before had told him; which he only took lightly. Not to mention, the extreme lust that overpowered him at certain times that had caused him to fool around even in the 1950's. It was so easy to prey on a body which is inflamed by pleasure and ecstasy.

He was taught a lot of things, had established a lot of friendship and connections, and was able to live a rather comfortable life in this phase.

New century. New cycle in his life. And a new name.

Chanjun chose to change his name into Park Chanyeol. He needed to leave everything in the past and keep going. Not like he had any other choice. Now walking the earth with the name of Chanyeol, he had always been intrigued as to how it was like in his hometown, considering his family moved out of the country when he was still a kid, and this led to a decision to move to Korea. It didn't take long for him to refresh the language in himself and to adapt to the culture and traditions.

It was then that he found comfort in doing music again. Art. Beauty. As much as he didn't like wild attention in the past, he had to try another occupation to avoid the familiarity that people he'd encountered in the past. When Chanyeol had entered the music industry of Korea, he was labeled as a new face who knew all the technicalities right off the bat. It wasn't of surprise to him, considering how he was well familiar with the field and his existence had rendered him able to adapt very quickly onto new things that might come his way. It was easy for him to make his way to the top names along with designer labels, but Chanyeol had always stayed humble with his feet on the ground.

◣ Seoul, 2016: Fallen Academe, Present

Continuing his career as a solo musician, Park Chanyeol works under YGP Entertainment and had just recently moved in to the place early that year. He owns a penthouse that was just a couple of blocks away from his work place and had brought with him the pet dog, named Eclair, that a French friend gifted him. He currently resides alone, but his sister's place is also just a few minutes drive away from his own.

What more could be in store for him in this never-ending life? Being alive means having to follow society's standards and demands, and to hide his real nature in the darkness with all his effort, but he can live with it as long as his life makes sense; to actually live than merely exist.
