He lived with happiness with his family for a majority of his life. Love, attention, no money problems, parents with very stable jobs, and not to mention the nice house. His father, a CEO of the most successful technology company in the country. His mother, a devoted house wife and mother.  He was the star of the basketball team in his high school. Not only did he thrive in sports, but as well as academics. He was the top of his class in every subject. Everything in his life was perfect - that was until he turned sixteen years old. His mother suddenly fell ill - this lead to him moving to the states so that his mother could receive proper treatment. He watched as his mother's health deterioate. Many doctors, when asked what was wrong with his mother,  simply replied, "We're not exactly sure." To make matters worst -Knight found out the truth behind his parent's love life, his father was seeing another woman. Something like this didn't occur to him since his parents seemed relatively happy.  

Behind his mother's back, his father began other women. But not only did he ravish them with jewels, but he also slept with them. It didn't just occur in the states, but back in Korea too. Due to his father's job, he was constantly travelling and often never home, leaving him a chance to fool around. B Some nights, after coming home from school, Knight would catch his father in action with one of his many mistresses. He could never comprend why his father could live like that, especially when his wife is on her death bed. But the affairs didn't stop there, Knight would find his father sleeping around with the nurses that cared for his mother while she was asleep in the room. No matter how many times he would try to scare off the mistresses, they always found a way to come back to his father. And each time he sent one away, he would always get punished for it. 
 
A year after living in the states, his parents officially divorced - a month after the divorce his mother passed away. The doctor's claimed they did all they could to help, but obviously not - when he returned to China to live with his father and his new 'step-mother'. He couldn't stand the sight of his father, ravishing the younger woman with his mother's jewerly. One day, when it was only him and his new step mother, she approached him - trying to seduce him. Snapping, he hit her - leaving a black eye. Once his father returned, his step mother lied, saying that he was trying to her and when she tried to fight back he hit her. Naturally, his father became outraged and disowned him.

Starting a new life, Black Knight changed his name, a way of cutting off any resources with his father. He moved to South Korea, his mother's hometown, in hopes of getting his education in the medical field - maybe to try and prevent a misdiagnosis like how the doctor's constantly did to his mother. Maybe, if his mother didn't die - he still had the idea that if she didn't, that their family would still be a happy one.
