The market is empty today, that's Jaekyung's first thought as she looks between the stalls. It's a little chilly and the air smells heavily of fish, but she could only go today, as her schedule is too busy to allow her to go shopping at any other time. So far, she's found nothing that she likes, only over priced meats and vegetables and several swarms of flies in the air. It's disgusting, but it's the only place to find what she needs, freshly cut beef skirt steak. And then, she finds it. It's at the corner of the market, and about seven other women are in front of the stall trying to make a grab at it, but Jaekyung needs that meat. She hurries over, taking a spot at the end of the line with her eyes on the meat she so desperately wants, but right before she steps up to select what she wants, the customer asks for it, and Jaekyung groans audibly. The meat seller, a young man named Jongin with tanned skin and short black hair, looks up to her puzzled, before his eyes fall to the skirt steak, and his lips curve into a smile. Just as she's about to step away and look for something else, he calls out to her, and Jaekyung turns to see a pair of beautiful brown eyes looking back at her. He pulls out a separate casing of skirt steak and sells it to her, but not without making a deal. It was supposed to be his personal order of steak, and the only way he'd give it to her is if she agreed to have a meal of skirt steak with him. Jaekyung was more than eager as she agreed. That was the first meal they shared together, but certainly not their last.

EXO, one of the biggest names in Korean Pop history. They're just two members, but both Jongin and Joonmyun depend heavily on one another. Jongin, because Joonmyun is the leader that had to take care of twelve other members besides himself at one point and remained strong even when three of these boys left. Joonmyun, because not only is Jongin a fierce dancer, but a good friend to the other members and a very talented singer. It's a long day at the recording studio. The others are somewhere in the building, but we're focusing on these two. Joonmyun's exhausted because of leadership duties. Jongin's exhausted because scandals are painful no matter how true they are. But they're both smiling as they sit there and work on their music. Even though EXO has lost members, even though they're working themselves to the ground, even though Jongin is being followed by reporters because of his own happiness, they're happy and they're together. EXO might be different on the outside, but EXO will always be the same. That's why at the end of their session, when Jongin finally decides to get up and get out for a while, Joonmyun lets him go silently, after a brief squeeze of his shoulder. No words are needed, they already know. Their hearts beat as one.
