Personality: Quiet, reserved and eager to please. He's been raised by an overbearing master who found it enjoyable to torture the creature within an inch of his death, but would never follow through. He blindly follows orders, never asking the reason behind them. When alone he never smiles, but if he's in the presence of someone he sees as dominant he will fake the happiness, hoping to avoid a beating. His real personality is hidden beneath the years of torment, but if you manage to get that far past his barriers he's sarcastic and rather playful. He rarely transforms into his full phoenix form, his last master didn't like the heat and forbade him from changing in his presence. He also has a habit of cleaning anything that seems out of place and finds it rather relaxing despite how he came to develop it. 

Background: At the age of 10 he watched his brothers being slaughtered by a group of hunters and to the day he still doesn't know the reason. He ran from the massacre, stumbling blindly through the forest until he came across the city. It didn't take him long to lose everything he had of value and dirty himself enough to look like he'd grown up on the streets. In only a few weeks, he was already starving and desperate for help. He didn't hesitate when a man reached out to him and happily followed him home, too innocent to realize his real reasons for saving him. He suffered through the years of torment, always too scared to leave the house where he'd found warmth and food. One night the man pushed him too far and his flames lashed out to protect him, killing the other instantly. Tao ran blindly, knowing what he had done was wrong and fearing the consequences if someone found him.
